141 Tasting Notes
Very strong aroma as the tea is brewing. Much better taste than Bigelow’s Raspberry Royale – the raspberry flavor is natural, though I do not taste the tea underneath at all. A good dessert tea; it would go well with dark chocolate.
Preparation
I tried this tea this morning. The orange flavor tasted somewhat artificial, even though the flavoring is supposed to be natural. The orange was so strong, that I could not taste the underlying tea, except for a lingering astringency afterward. Wihtout sugar, it was somewhat bitter, like orange peel, but with sugar, it was like drinking hot Tang. I may try brewing this again with a shorter steeping period, or perhaps cold-brewing it.
Preparation
I cold-brewed the tea this time, using three teabags in an 18 oz. jar and left it to brew for about 24 hours in the fridge. The slight bitter aftertaste and astringency disappeared, leaving only the floral sweetness and aroma of the Darjeeling. There is nothing quite like it.
