January sipdown prompt for Bittersweet Chocolate Day!

This was a gift from Superanna last year. It is one of the few chocolate teas that tastes like real chocolate to me. I do not find the chocolate super strong in this – I can still taste the black tea base fortunately. And the chocolate flavor lacks that odd mildew smell that I find in some Harney chocolate teas as well as other companies.

The chocolate is mild and smooth and this was great with breakfast, but could also serve well with sweets or as a stand alone cup. I didn’t add milk and sugar, but I bet with additions this could be a dessert substitute if you were so inclined.

A really good tea.

Bio

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fifteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
