630 Tasting Notes
It is downright creepy how accurate the cotton candy flavor is. The tea is strong, and it isn’t overwhelmed by the cotton candy, but the cotton candy is equally present. I cold steeped this and enjoyed it very much.
Preparation
This was tasty, but I realized while drinking it that I’ve never had tamarind. At least not as a primary flavor to know what it tastes like. So unfortunately, I can’t speak to how accurate it is. It is a bit sweet, a bit tart, and warm tasting. Good for a cold morning like today.
Preparation
Super duper thyme-y, the peach really (surprisingly) takes a backseat on this one. I think the flavors could use a bit more balancing, as I do think peach could stand up to thyme a bit more equally and be delicious, but this is delicious too. I think it could make a very refreshing pot of iced tea in the summer as well as hot, like a friend and I drank it today. I was surprised I enjoyed it, as it is primarily herb taste and more a wisp of peach, but I totally did.
Preparation
This is very apple-y, and beyond that and rooibos, I don’t taste a ton. I think anyone who likes red rooibos with fruit will like this. That said, I have been experimenting with having rooibos in many flavors and have been finding that across brands, I don’t know that I prefer red rooibos with fruity flavors. I’ve been preferring spicier blends with red, and fruity ones with green rooibos. Interesting, as it did not used to be so.
Preparation
This is super refreshing. It is fruity, but not berry fruity, more tropical. It was ok hot, but every time I forget a cup of fruity tea and it cools I remember how much I love fruity teas iced. It is like a taste of summer…never mind that there is snow on the ground right now.
Preparation
This was lovely. It is bergamot-y, but subtle. I enjoyed it with a little lavender honey and milk and I was a big fan. Lately I have been using almond milk because it doesn’t spoil quickly, but have also noticed it giving my tea a distinctive almond flavor that doesn’t always agree with it. Using regular skim milk today showed me that I should use skim milk when I have it, it does make a difference, and save almond milk for other things.
Today marks my first full year on Steepster. It has been an awesome one, and inspired me to reorganize and recommit to getting my stash (aka hoard) under control. Pictures and explanation in my blog post for anyone curious: http://myliferevamp.blogspot.com/
Preparation
Mmmm, cranberry. This tastes just like it, but isn’t too tart or sour. It also isn’t too sweet – cranberries aren’t sweet, so this is spot on. It is great hot, it is great iced. It isn’t bitter. I really have nothing negative to say about it.
Preparation
Yum yum, this is super tasty. Primarily raspberry, but the rich nutty flavor is there too. The second steep is significantly more tart from the raspberry and the nuts step back. This was lovely, I am glad to have gotten to taste it.
Preparation
I enjoyed this a lot. It was earthy without tasting rotten or weird like some puerhs can. I found it to be moderately sweet, getting sweeter with later infusions. I infused it for probably ten seconds, then the next couple fifteen, and the couple after that closer to twenty or thirty seconds. The flavors were all similar, they just took turns being center stage. It could have gone much longer, but I really tire of drinking the same tea all day sometimes. It does make dog sitting a little bit easier if I am going to be here all day, as I only needed to bring this one sample packet with me. Of course I brought three full sized tins as options and had ten samples here a few days ago. Because flavor ADD.
