630 Tasting Notes
This is really good. The pineapple was strong, and there was a very natural tasting sweetness from the cream. I was honestly surprised that I couldn’t taste the cilantro more, and a little disappointed by that. I LOVE cilantro. It does offer an herb aftertaste, a bit of a sharpness, that was really pleasant.
Preparation
I enjoyed this. The base tea is flavorful even with the flavorings, but there is a sweetness and a toasty flavor that is reminiscent of caramel, and it is also fruity. I don’t necessarily taste apple specifically, but in the end it is delicious, so who cares if the name doesn’t describe it exactly?
Preparation
This is another one that just shocked me with its accuracy in flavor. I cold steeped, as I prefer my black iced teas that way, and for a few minutes I was able to forget the blistering cold and pretend like I was 10 years old at a pool party in July.
Preparation
I LOVE peach tea. And I think it pairs so nicely with the sweetness that white tea has. This one obviously has some creamy notes, but they don’t overwhelm the peach. That is very important to me for a peach tea. This also would be awesome iced.
Preparation
Mmm, I really liked this. It is balanced and dessert-y but not cloying. I feel fortunate to taste samples of things I will never have bigger amounts of, as sad as it is, because I’d rather experience a small amount of something great I can’t have again than not experience it at all. Very good.
Preparation
This was odd. It has two of my favorite flavors in the whole world, peach and vanilla, but it tasted SUPER artificial and strong. I could have sworn I tasted the slightest alcohol bite to it. Drinkable, but not my favorite, so I will be rehoming the rest.
Preparation
This one surprised me – it wasn’t super orangey or almondy. I found the oolong base to be the prominent flavor, and the orange just made it zingier and the almond made things a hair dessert-y. It is alright, but unremarkable.
Preparation
This is really apple-y and good – sweet too, so much more like a red apple than green. I don’t really taste any floral notes, but whatever. I don’t need to. I like apples.
I got my certification today, and the director of field experiences from my education program emailed to recommend me for a long term sub position for fourth quarter this year. 5th grade at a local parochial school. So out of the blue, not even in the realm of my cert (though parochial schools don’t require them), but it is the first time I’ve been able to tangibly realize that there is potential, soon, for me to have a job I want and love and make the money I want and need. I have never made more than 25k a year my whole adult life, and living paycheck to paycheck.
Drinking only new and exciting teas today in celebration.
Preparation
This is tasty, but not what a lot of people would think it would taste like. It is lemon, but more of a sweet lemon than sour lemon. With that, the tea is mellow and errs on sweet, and I think if you added sugar it would have a lemon candy aspect to it. I actually really like it, and I usually prefer fruit flavors to be strong, but strong lemon sometimes tastes artificial.
