This is truly fantastic. When I made my last order, I looked here to seek out reviews for the best the company has to offer, and wasn’t necessarily expecting a ton from this sample. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It is so much more subtle than most jasmine teas, though I do like jasmine, and the tea itself is lightly sweet and fresh and green without being bitter at ALL or intense. Truly a balanced flavor, even with multiple steeps. I am amazed.

This was pretty good – if I didn’t have a similar black that I like better before it I might say really good. It has a slight sweetness, tastes mostly like bread and malt, with a hint of grape. A good morning tea.

This is really good – I have been into exploring blacks lately, and received this as part of a box I will be reviewing. It is super malty and does have a sweet note in it that gives it that caramel edge. I will really enjoy drinking the rest of this, it is pretty perfect in the mornings.

This is delicious. I love a good white tea. It tastes like hay smells. Good, fresh hay. Sweet, a bit like syrup/honey, and floral while also still a bit of green and fresh. Good for a few steeps, too.

I was so happy to see the mystery tea was oolong – I think out of all tea, oolong is my favorite. To me it has the widest flavor profile range, and I actually enjoy all stops along that range. I also love white tea, but do not think it has the same flavor possibilities. This is definitely fruity, floral, sweet, and nutty. All things I like. Together, something I enjoy, but not something I can’t live without. Which is good, given once it is gone, it is gone.

This was very tasty. I could taste the cashew for sure, as well as a sweetness that must have been the cakey taste. It was fruity, but I can never taste specifically plum in plum flavored teas. I think I will try this with a little sugar tomorrow to see if I can bring out more of the fruity, cakey flavors.

Given my state of general life imbalance, making the right choices and being able to focus on the bigger goals of the upcoming year is absolutely critical. I am not sure how much drinking this tea helps, but I find it to be tasty. It includes Eyebright, Star Anise, Jasmine Flower, Passion Flower, and Spearmint leaf and the lot is apparently infused with sapphire essence. I wasn’t sure what that meant (am I drinking rocks?) but thankfully, the website explained that the process meant the herbs basically spent some time hanging out nearby some sapphire. Cool. It tastes very herbal and pleasant, and I have much enjoyed drinking this before bed.

drank Chai Tea by Buddha Teas

This chai is well balanced, but weak. The spices are present, but don’t overwhelm the tea. However, in order to make a cup as strong as any chai lover would prefer, two teabags are needed. To make a strong brew in order to stand up to a little milk and sweetener, to prepare in a more traditional way, three are required. Granted, I use a bigger mug, maybe 12 ounces, but I think the bag requires more leaf. This would be good for someone who wants to drink chai lite, so to speak.

I enjoy this a lot. I have tried it western style, and it was very intense that way. It was equal parts creamy and floral for the first western steep – next time I will do shorter infusions, it was almost too intense. It was creamier and sweeter and fruitier for the following two. I am enjoying it gongfu style today, practicing with my new gaiwan, and it is a lot more nuanced this way. Which isn’t surprising. It hopped between creamy and floral the first several steeps, and moved to primarily fruity/floral for the latter. I steeped it countless times and it retained flavor well. I could see this being an everyday staple, as it is pretty inexpensive for the quality.

This is really good. I love genmaicha, even though it is a bit odd because it just yells POPCORN to me. I drank some…and then made popcorn because it induced a craving. That said, this being good green tea, it tastes a bit more like veggies and popcorn. Popped veggies maybe.

Now a certified teacher, beginning my first year in third grade this fall. I have been involved in the tea world about 5 years now. In that time, I have learned so much, and am hoping to learn even more by joining the steepster community.

In my non-tea times, I am usually watching netflix while writing lesson plans, cuddling my two kitties, or trying to find new things to do in a town that is sometimes a bit limited!
