630 Tasting Notes

This might be one of the most interesting teas I have ever had. It is making me CRAZY that I can’t pinpoint the exact herb/savory flavor that this so strongly reminds me of. It is food for sure. Makes me nuts.

Anyway, this is sweet while also being a bit savory and definitely has strong pine and herb components. I steeped it twice before needing to go to sleep and I enjoyed it very much. Here’s hoping I pinpoint the flavor or flavor combo that is evading me…

I drank this before subbing yesterday, when I realized I was battling yet another stomach issue. I don’t like ginger, but I know it soothes upset tummies, and this has lemongrass and other herbals in it to help cut that. I am not the biggest fan, but it is drinkable for me. Whether or not it worked is anyone’s guess.

I enjoy this brand, as I’ve said before. I like this tea – it is great hot but also is very good iced. It is juicy and tropical, with a bit of green from the tea itself. A solid bagged option.

I normally find earl grey to be soapy, but found that the creme versions help cut that, alongside some milk. I like this most in the morning, even more so now that it is spring and the citrus reflects the freshness of spring.

I got this as a bonus sample in a Birchbox order. Makeup and tea? Pretty much my favorite things ever. I like this brand as a teabag option, they might even be my favorite. This is strong, a bit sweet, and is very forgiving to a bit of oversteeping. It is mostly orange with just a hint of dessert-y vanilla. I would definitely repurchase this.

This is delicious and refreshing. I made it with the intention of icing it, and it was floral and fruity and green and basically tastes like springtime. Excellent to get me through the long days of subbing and help me decompress when children decide to flip their desks over like little maniacs over things like not being line leader.

True story.

I enjoyed drinking this. The first steep was really smooth and creamy and sweet, with florals in the background. I’m not cool enough to be able to pick out more specific flavors. The later couple steeps are much more floral and fruity and tasty. I love oolong, and this one would be good for every day.

I enjoyed drinking this- I have never had anything like it before. The tangerine flavor was pronounced, but not overwhelming. Earthy with the citrus zest. I imagine it wouldn’t be a bad iced tea, even though I don’t typically use pu for icing.

I’m wondering if Keemun isn’t another kind of black I just don’t really adore plain. This tasted malty. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great.

It might have been my mood though. I will need to try it again. I woke up to a text from a guy I was seeing wanting to break things off just as I was starting to like him. It’s ok, he is a mess, as it turns out. Dating just sucks, and I think I’m going to be taking a rest from it for awhile!

Breakup texts are so 2007. Sorry to hear that!

A part of why its ok- I strongly believe some things deserve the consideration of a phone call or in person meet. Online dating is like an extreme sport! :)

This is tasty. I like ripe pu, more than raw, so far. It’s earthy and a bit sweet, and had no barnyard or fish taste that some can have. I got about 8 good steeps before I got bored. I love that I’ve never been able to exhaust a pu like this.

That said, most taste very similar to me.

Now a certified teacher, beginning my first year in third grade this fall. I have been involved in the tea world about 5 years now. In that time, I have learned so much, and am hoping to learn even more by joining the steepster community.

In my non-tea times, I am usually watching netflix while writing lesson plans, cuddling my two kitties, or trying to find new things to do in a town that is sometimes a bit limited!
