This is an interesting tea – it brews up to a wheat-golden liquid that smells remarkably like Hubbard’s Shoe Grease…I wasn’t expecting it to have that bacon/pine tar scent that reminds me of nothing more than bootblacking.
It’s hard to get past that to actually assess the flavour of the tea, but there are definitely fishy, leather-like notes that are all kinds of strange. I’m not sure I enjoy the experience of drinking this cup, but that might just be an aversion to puerhs, so take my rating with a grain of salt.
