122 Tasting Notes
Work on a Saturday… yuck. I’m feeling overly tired and a little intimidated by all the work in front of me, so I’m going to my number one work helper — tea! This is the one tea I have not tried yet from my Kusmi sampler. I’m a little sad about diving into the ones I only have one left of so I’m trying it out. I hope it has enough kick to light a fire under me.
So far…. eh…. it’s not blowing me away. It’s an extremely high quality tea, but the flavor is very light. I feel like I can’t really taste it, even after brewing it for longer than recommended. I feel like I’m going to need a little more caffeine than this has to offer. I’d say, if you are a green tea and/or darjeeling fan then try this — it is delicious, just very subtle.
I just used this for a staff tea party at my work and it was a big hit! I am actually not a huge fan of the flavor, but the flower that blooms is wonderful! The picture doesn’t do it justice. I also showed some children this tea and they thought it was magic. It really is lovely. Even though I didn’t love the taste, the ladies at my work did (or were perhaps being polite) so that’s a win. Try out this tea! I liked it more than other flowering teas I’ve tried.
I did not expect to like this one. For one — caramel? In tea? Come on now. But you know what? It totally works. This is a wonderful blend. There is a slight hint of fruit (which usually I don’t care for) and it completely works with the flavors. I was so pleasantly surprised! Resteeping made it lose it’s flavor, understandably. This is another winner from my Kusmi Essentials box! I recommend picking one of those up, fellow tea drinkers. I’m a new Kusmi convert.
WOW! I’ve never tasted a black tea quite like this one. I’m tasting the chocolate and barley notes others have mentioned, but keep tasting new things. This is a complex tea. My first sip reminded me (pleasantly) of saltine crackers. I can’t explain that one.
I am so, so impressed with this tea. Verdant really is as wonderful as people say! I am so grateful I found steepster and was introduced to this fantastic company. Try this tea!
