As a child, my grandmother used to make this remedy for me whenever my throat started to catch in hopes to prevent an oncoming cold. The first sip I took from a cuppa Ginger & Lemon Myrtle took me right back to that same time. However, while it did remind me of that fond childhood memory, it didn’t quite replicate the same soothing feeling I had experienced.
Smell

When first opening the closed loose leaf bag, the strong, lemon scent is what immediately hit me. Upon further takes, the hints of rooibos became more and more apparent. The ginger was very faint.

Taste

The lemon was the first thing that came to me, followed by the dry, grassy rooibos. The ginger became more and more prominent near the end, leaving its strong impression in the aftertaste.

UPDATE: I’m back! Hopefully going to be able to post more, as I’ve upgraded my tea chest and found out a treasure trove of tea vendors/cafes here in Hawaii.

Born on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii, where I live. Aspiring for my major in Japanese Language through the University of Hawaii. And as I mentioned, HUGE nerd. :P

On island, I frequent Lupicia and Teavana; the former from where I make a majority of my purchases. Teavana is quite new to me, however, and am curious to know of any teas in particular from them that I should definitely try.

I’ve made my New Years resolution to drink at least a cuppa day, so be on the watch for plenty of reviews!

Anyway, it’d be nice to network with other awesome nerdy tea enthusiasts on here; especially if they live in Hawaii. :]
