1040 Tasting Notes
This is just ok for me. It’s awfully sweet. Not sure that it’s exactly red velvet cake, but it’s sweet and somewhat chocolate. Other chocolate teas are more dark/bitter chocolate – not this one – it’s full of candy/sweet (maybe even icing – or that’s the overload sweet) chocolate.
This is another from my Persimmon sample pack I bought. This is pretty good, I haven’t done so well with most of them, so I am pleasantly surprised.
Not much to say. I’m not exactly sure what guava is suppose to taste like, but this is a nice light fruity white tea. I don’t really have any complaints about it. I needed to add some sweetener to bring out more of the fruity, but all in all it’s pretty good.
Having a challenging tea day at work. They turned the water off – doing repairs or something. I’m used to having instant hot water from a dispenser. Not today. I’m heating water in the microwave. Uggggg.
Anyway…… Having said that, I still really like this tea. I like this better than any other dancong I’ve tried. This is really nice. It’s woody – I like woody – it’s not metallic like some oolongs are. Maybe a touch of sweetness, it’s just really really nice.
This didn’t stand up to multiple infusions as well as some others, that could be my water issue though. I’m going to wait to give it a numerical rating until I’ve been able to drink it under better water conditions, but for right now this is definitely a 90 tea.
Another tea from my Persimmon sample purchase. I’m not really crazy about this one either. It’s ok, just ok. Nothing awful about it (it doesn’t have the odd taste I was getting in some of the fruit blends). It’s flat to me, that’s the best way to describe it. Not coconut enough, not creamy enough, and I think the white tea is just non existent. I added a splash of milk, that helped but I’m still not thrilled. Sorry, really wanted to like these teas, but they just aren’t for me.
Green oolongs are not my favorite, but this was included as a sample in my last order. As much as I prefer darker oolongs this is one that I could drink now and then for a change. It’s a nice light oolong, beautiful pale yellow. It’s not too grassy or veggy ish for my tastes. It has some floral tones with out being overly so.
I really like everything I’ve tried from Tao Tea Leaf.
Odd that there aren’t any tasting notes on this tea. I don’t like being the first to review teas.
I didn’t do very well with The Persimmon Tree Tea company samples that ordered. I found most of their fruit flavored teas had an “odd” flavor to them. Was hoping that this chai would be different. Nope it’s still there. I don’t know what it is, but there is something strange and fruity in this chai. I don’t think fruity belongs in chai. The actual chai spices are mellow and well balanced, but I can’t get past the oddness of this.
This one is not for me. :((
I’m not sure I’ve had green rooibos before… I took this to work, and was drinking it for most of the day. I haven’t had much luck with the other Persimmon samples I got, and didn’t really have much optimism for this one. Pleasantly surprised.
Not the best fruit tea in the world, but it was peachy, light and refreshing. No heavy aftertaste. This is just a nice light summery tea.
I was drinking both Yu Lu Yan Cha Black and Laoshan Black last night. I drank three steeps of each of them, trying to compare and decide which I liked better. This is more of a comparison of the two and I am going to post this note on both.
I like them both. They were similar and are both malty, dark, chocolatey, great black teas. I though Laoshan Black had bolder flavors, Yu Lu Cha was milder. Yu Lu Cha is the type of tea that I could drink all day at work, Laoshan, is more of a " I just want a cup or two" special occasion tea. Laoshan would be too much for me to drink more than a couple of cups.
I’m not sure which I like better. They are so similar and yet different. I think I need to find room in my cupboard for both of them. Would drink them under different situations.
both of these are really good teas, but not my favorite. I have one I like better.
