I’m enjoying this one while listening to the Rushmore soundtrack. I was hoping that this would be a little bit sweeter and with more minty bite, but it’s pretty good as is. The flavoring is at a good level for fast consumption.
Preparation
I’m having a difficult time with this tea. I really liked a lot of the flavors in it, but I don’t really like the way everything goes together. I am drinking this and really wishing that it had a black tea base or something without the strong chestnut and vegetal flavors. Maybe this would be good cold brewed?
Preparation
I’m generally not a fan of vanilla black teas, but of the few I’ve tried this is by far the best. I think I could really enjoy this a lot if I halved the strength of the flavoring using the regular Premium Taiwanese Assam.
I feel terrible that I haven’t been reading many of other people’s reviews because I’ve been too busy with work. Hopefully soon I will binge on Steepster and catch up!
Flavors: Caramel, Vanilla
Preparation
I’ve just been in a mood recently where I’ve been loving every tea I’ve been drinking. I guess I’m just learning what I don’t like and what to avoid more. I got a sample of this from David’s Tea a while back, and now I’m finally trying it. I’m holding back on rating this one because I am getting all of these great notes that are delicious- vegetal and buttery, but I am also getting a lemony aftertaste, which I’m worried may have been from my infuser, which I cleaned with bit of lemon juice yesterday. Oh well. I know this is something I definitely want to try again.
Flavors: Bok Choy, Butter, Grass
Preparation
I bought this tea mostly for the novelty, but it is a really excellent tea. The dried apples make the apple aroma too sweet to be any applesauce I’ve had, though (not that I’m complaining). I’m really craving something salty to go with this to bring out the latke flavor.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Potato
Preparation
Well, the lid is definitely picking up smells from flavored teas. My plan is to deodorize it and continue to use it only for unflavored teas. I will buy an infuser made of a non-porous material (still looking to find the right one) for when I brew flavored teas in the future. I still love this teapot, though!
After recently drinking the Jin Jun Mei from The Mandarin’s Tea Room, this one is leaving me feeling just “meh”. The one thing I noticed about The Mandarin’s Tea Room Jin Jun Mei was that the leaves were impossibly small. Now I believe I understand the name, the leaves of the higher grades are as small as eyebrow hairs.
Preparation
Ah, that explains it!! LOL
I used to really love Verdant’s Wild picked jin jun mei, but I ran out of it months ago! So this proves that you are possibly even more of a hoarder than I am. :D
I have just been crazy-impressed by just about everything I’ve ordered from zoomdweebies.com. This one was very tasty, and pretty true-to-flavor. I brewed it yesterday before Casey and I (who are normally hermits/home bodies) went out to San Francisco for the day. I am enjoying this now while trying to catch up on others’ tasting notes!
