4 Tasting Notes
I recently got this for Christmas and I must say I really like it. The flavors rotate within the same cup depending on if I’m drinking it warm or chilled. My first brew tasted wonderful, nothing was overpowering (okay possibly a bit on the minty side but hey, I love mint). In the second brew it tasted more appley than before. In that same cup my aunt tasted it and could only pick out the Strawberry while my cousin could only pick out the apple and mint.
However, I don’t taste much tea in it. I’m not complaining this time around because I really like it, but if you want more tea than fruit taste, this probably isn’t for you.
Preparation
I bought a bit of this a while back and I tried it using different methods. I’ve tried changing the temperature, using more tea, using less, and nothing I do can make this taste anything less like a fresh bar of soap. I’ve simply been blending it into other teas to make it bearable and get rid of it. I generally like a sweet, floral tea but this one just isn’t for me.
Flavors: Soap
I received this blend as a free sample in my order, and although I enjoy it, I feel like the spices are too overpowering. Even though I love adding cinnamon to certain tea blends, it was a bit too much this time around. I can just barely taste some of the other flavors in this brew, some of which I would have liked to been a little more prominent. Heck, when I first steeped it, I couldn’t even taste the rock sugar. It wasn’t sweet in the slightest. Maybe my taste buds are broken?
Overall, not a bad tea, but it needs to cut back on the cinnamon so some of the other flavors can come out of hiding.
