From Utopia Tea

A traditional favorite, Irish Breakfast is an organic tea that all coffee lovers enjoy because it yields a complex cup. Its bold, malty, and well-rounded taste goes nicely with a splash of milk and sugar and will get your day off to a great start! Irish Breakfast blends notes of Ceylon with an underscore of Assam to create a sweet finish. Black tea leaves contain a large amount of antioxidant compounds called polyphenols that aid in fighting harmful diseases while protecting the body. Black tea is also known to strengthen the immune system, lower cholesterol, and protect teeth and bones. Small amounts of calcium, manganese, and potassium have also been found in black tea. Try this tea hot or over ice!

The aroma is really strong, not in a bad way but in a fill-the-room way… Spicy, a little sweet, with dark undertones.

The flavor also has the dark tones to it like an Assam does, with a bit of green at the tip of the tongue. Little bit of a burnt taste. Strong and lasting finish. Would probably be good for those that like milk and sweets in their tea, it would hold up well to them.

It’s a good tea, but not for me. I’ll rate it high on its clear quality, even though it rates low for me personal-taste-wise.

I try to avoid caffeine in the mornings, but some days you just need it to get going and today was just one of those days for me. I just got a sample of Utopia’s Irish Breakfast tea in the mail and knew that should do perfectly for me and lucky me it was just enough for my travel mug.

I can’t really remember the last time I had Irish Breakfast, it isn’t among my regular teas, but I knew it was a good strong blend and this didn’t disappoint. This was strong with a bit of a bite to it, yet not bitter at all. This is one of those teas that is perfect for a dreary morning like today and it is great with a splash of milk and honey. This also resteeps well, I iced my second steep down for later when it starts to warm up.

The tea leaves were arranged in paper tea bag that was nice prepared by Utopia Tea. Irish Breakfast is an organic tea that some coffee lovers may enjoy. If you’re into a tea that is a bit stronger than usual and enjoy a nice wakening then I would suggest this one. I was iffy at trying it at first because I never had good experiences with Irish flavoured products, but to my surprise, it was actually a smooth, and refreshing tea. I prepared the tea with milk and a hint of sugar because of the bold taste it contains. The bold taste helps enrich the flavour and is a great way to start off an early morning. Also, because of the bold taste with the hint of strong flavours I was able to reuse my tea bag for a second time and enjoy another warm cup. It’s usually not my “cup of tea” to reuse a tea bag or any tea leaves but this tea is worth the bargain!
