From Murchie's Tea & Coffee

Murchie’s No. 22 Blend Tea is similar to our beloved No. 10 Blend, but richer and more full-bodied due to a stronger Ceylon base.

Originally blended: 1920’s

A long-time fan favourite, this is a superb blend of green Gunpowder and Jasmine, as well as Keemun and Ceylon black teas.

All the flavour of our world-famous No. 10 Blend, with a touch of bergamot to brighten the flavour, and Ceylon to strengthen the brew. With slightly more pronounced citrus and floral tones, this makes for a great cup of tea.

Ingredients: black tea (Ceylon, Keemun), green tea (Gunpowder, Jasmine), bergamot oil

It’s a nice enough tea, but a little mild-mannered for my taste — I’d rather something a little more boisterous.

I’ve not had a lot of green/black blends, perhaps this is characteristic of these teas — but it ends up tasting like a very mild-flavoured black.

Sipdown! (28)

The last of my Murchie’s teabag samplers! I do still have some loose leaf to sip down, but still nice to get the teabags cleared out.

I’ve been really interested in trying all of their green-black blends, and this one is similar to the No. 10 (one of my favorites). It seems to just include a stronger Ceylon base, which looks to be a CTC (and the description mentions a touch of bergamot, but the No. 10 already has that as well?). It’s lovely though, a nice balance of jasmine and citrus with the green and black teas. I always steep these using green tea parameters, so the difference in the Ceylon may not be as pronounced as it would be if you steeped it hotter. It does have a brisker edge to it, and I do think I prefer the No. 10, but it was fun to try!

Hmm. Not sure who this was from. I assumed it was a straight tea, but upon drinking it, it tasted a bit flavoured – but with what, I couldn’t tell. Just a touch too muted. It was still decent enough to drink though (and I have one cup left).
