From Délice Boréal / Northern Delights

Deeply satisfying, the rich violet colour of Blend #4 comes from the hand-picked crowberry leaves. This herbal tea has a refreshingly crisp taste and an intense hue from crowberry, hibiscus blossoms, juniper berries, and red poppy flowers. The crowberry tea has a gentle touch that makes Blend #4 particularly satisfying.

I’ve had this tea before but I barely remember it, so it was one of the ones on my list that I asked my mom to grab me from Cornelia Bean since they carry all of Northern Delight’s blends. It was pretty nice!

There’s a ton of ingredients in the blend so you’d think it might be a little busy, but I honestly think most of the ingredients are pretty masked by the dominant flavours of cinnamon and cranberry. The cinnamon is very cozy and warming, with some distinct woody and earthy undertones to it. Not a red hot style cinnamon at all, which can be quite cloying and sweet. The cranberry comes through in the undertones following the initial blanket of spice, and it’s a nice fruity contrast with a little bit of tartness while not being sweet. Very autumnal sort of vibes.
