A peach green tea with a strong peach and smooth green tea is one of my favorites, and this was a winner. The peach flavor dominates the scent, and while it fades in the flavor, it’s still present and clear. I’d love to try a cold brew on this one – I suspect I’d bump up the rating.

Adventageddon Day 3

Cold Brew!

I actually just totally assumed based on the name that this was going to be an herbal blend and I’m not sure why, but I was definitely a little surprised to see it was a green tea when I opened up the packet. I also fully intended to have this hot, but when I poured the water from the kettle in the office I didn’t realize it hadn’t actually heated up until several minutes later into “steeping” the tea. So, it ended up becoming a deskside cold brew instead which I let steep for a few more hours while working…

Not necessarily a favourite, but it’s hard to say if that’s the tea or the very chaotic brewing method. It was peachier than I expected it to be, but not very sweet at all and with a very herbaceous backend of the sip from all the vervain and the grassier green tea. Sort of just mediocre, and not something I’d personally seek out again aside from maybe just trying it once hot to see if that would MAYBE perk it up a little bit more…

Aside from again noticing our different preferences, I like that you chose cold brew and want to try it hot now while I drank mine hot and now want to try a cold brew.

DF Advent — Day 3

Very strong heady and floral honeyed peach aroma. Viscous body, not quite sweet but almost. I enjoyed how the aroma plays with the mineral and herbal taste of the verbena. The base green tea seems like Chinese sencha — toast-vegetal-dry grass, and kind of tastes a bit separated from the rest of what’s going on. Regardless, I enjoyed this tea immensely due to it’s texture and long, floral and fruity peach aftertaste. Had hot, it was thrilling, but once the second steep reached room temperature, it did not impress.

I got sample sachet of it, not a loose leaf. But it is available only in bulk otherwise.

I finally finished the garden, it is all mowed, but the parts where I started I can mow again, hehe.

Green tea sounds good for me today, as today is going to be long day. As I said, I was mowing (in the early morning), now tea and breakfast and then to Uni city to return books I have from library, lunch and whole afternoon to work. No more inventory checks, but warehouse office job. I was looking forward for it since I started to do inventory checks. It is different company too (I was working there previous two summers).

Tea?
82 °C water, 4-5 minutes steep.
Tea looks good in sachet, quite big leaves (as unusual for sachets) and some wonderful white petals and flowers. Liquor is quite light green and clear.

Aroma is as usual for DF teas strongly floral, with peach notes. I can imagine those nice fuzzy peaches while smelling it. Nice, ripe, fuzzy peach. Soon they will be ready there. We have a peach tree on garden.

The taste is though bit different. It is refreshing verbena flavour with peach sweetness. Good choice. There is as well floral-honeyish aftertaste. Too bad I have just a single sachet.

Great tea!

We are 35C and above every day for two weeks now. We are mowing every five to six days! We have heard about heat waves in Europe. Is it quite hot where you are, too?

Martin Bednář

We are keeping our garden rather like a meadow combined with orchard. Indeed we caught heat wave, when I was at that customs post office it was worst (around 35 °C), now it was few days just around 30 °C (even that is too much for me :) ) Now another superextreme (sic!) weather is coming, 35 °C should be minimum for next week.

I do not like it at all, we do not have AC in office.

ashmanra

Oh no! Do your evenings cool off well? I would like it so much if our evenings were cool, but they are not. Our lows are about 24C and sometimes higher,

ashmanra

The meadow and orchard setting sounds heavenly…

Martin Bednář

A bit, not much. And sleeping in room where is about 25 °C is way too much in my opinion.
I think lows are similar here. About 22-25°C

It is 32C right now and climbing. We just had lunch under a dogwood tree outside, with a huge pedestal fan pointed at us! We drank Blueberry Green iced sweet tea. Temps are still climbing, so supper will almost certainly be indoors, but we do love eating outside if the weather cooperates!

Martin Bednář

Yep, iced tea is almost only opinion right now. Though I had again Calabria from DF. At least it was bit refreshing.

We’re at 34; that’ll be our daytime high (look at me doing temperature conversions … OK, I asked Google). The fridge can’t chill fast enough to suit me—got a couple Mason jars going that I can’t wait to try.

Cameron B.

This sounds lovely, I’ll have to keep it in mind for my next order! :)
