FREE SURPRISE GIFT BOX!!! 2014 "Pay it Forward" initiative
I would be interested, but I have a few questions.
How much are we expected to add?
Is it okay if we add in a little tea related gift as well?
And is it possible to only ship domestically (US for me)? Sending just a small bubble mailer with a few samples to Canada is almost $8, I don’t know I’d be able to afford a whole package stuffed with tea.
Thank you for showing interest!
There are no rules, I just came up with the idea an offered to coordinate stuff :-) i’m not imposing any rules or guidelines, donators decide for themselves what they can afford to send…it’s about cheering up someone, whatever you send will be appreciated I’m sure!
Also have a question! Is there any recommended sample size for those donating? I’d like to send mostly smaller samples (maybe 2-3 tsps), along with some larger ones, but I’m not sure if that’d be acceptable or not.
I’d also be happy to donate a decently packed bubble mailer or two full of tea but would prefer to ship within the US :)
I’m a long time lurker who is contemplating joining… what kind of packaging would we send samples in? I’ve only ever done it with either Teavivre prepackaged samples or these little tins I used to have back when I was doing essential oil work.
Also I’ve done swaps on other forums before (bpal.org being the main one) and they’ve had questionaires and the like for swaps… how would we determine the likes and dislikes of our intended giftee?
Sorry if those questions are a bit inane, I am a noob to tea swapping and wanted to understand so I could ensure I could meet the expectations of the recipient before I signed up.
Hi!
Welcome to Steepster! Please see answer right above given to Cookies…there are no rules. I prepare a bunch of samples of my own tea + store samples. This is not a swap, it’s a gift so i suggest you prepare the package the way you would for a friend :-)
I personaly use small sealable pouches that you find at craft stores.
As for swaps, the best way to trade is to agree on a protocole with the person you do it with. There’s no such questionnaire here, but most members write their preferences in their bio/profile. I strongly suggest you do the same.
If you are looking for people to swap with, you can create a new discussion on the forum page.
Thank you for showing interest :-)
I have foil-lined ziplock pouches that I bought on eBay for doing swaps and for my own longer term tea storage. They’re fairly inexpensive and smell/leak proof, so none of the teas contaminate each other or lose flavour. I’ve found them to be much, much better than ziplock plastic bags.
I ordered these ones, but there’s lots of other options out there: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141296324973?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&var=440413338739&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Those pouches look fantastic Anlina! I’m ordering them for sure, thanks for posting this :-)
This is such a wonderful idea! We’d be happy to send something out in Canada. Thank you for coordinating.
I’m in as a donor! U.S. only, unless there are more Canadians in tea-need than donors able/willing to ship to Canada. I can tailor the gift to the recipient’s wish list.
Count me in as a donator! Tea brings me so much joy and life that I’m happy to pass it on where I can. Thanks for setting this up and allowing us to share the tea.
