Your Black Friday plan?
So far I’ve ordered from Adagio, TeaVivre, and Yogic Chai since they started their sales early. I may order from Zen Tea, Herbal Infusions, and Della Terra depending on the sales tomorrow and Monday. Other than that the sale is going to have to be really impressive before I consider another order.
If anyone sees the Breville tea maker for sale, can they please mention it here?
What price would you consider being a sale? William Sonoma has it for $250 with free shipping and they say the msrp is $380. Bed Bath and Beyond has it at the same price online and they often send out 20% off coupons.
That’s their everyday pricing, $250… same with amazon. I’m dreaming of a day I can get it for under $200!
I ordered from Della Terra and Verdant so far today. I’m looking at TeaVivre, Whispering Pines, and David’s, too. My plan is to order what I need this week and NO MORE TEA the rest of the year so I can actually sip everything down. The goal for 2015 is quality over quantity!
David’s offers don’t seem that interesting. Free shipping part is cool, but the only other online offer is a free timolino when you spend $75. The in store offer of a free perfect mug when you spend $35 is much more interesting to me, but the $300 plane ticket to get to a David’s location kinda kills that for me.
My plan is to make purchases today and Monday, restock in June or July, and have that be my only tea purchases for the coming year.
I will spend quite a bit of money at Whispering Pines on Monday. :)
So far I’ve ordered from Amoda (25% off black tea today only), Octavia, and Butiki. Monday I plan on checking out Whispering Pines and Yezi. I’m still waiting for David’s to do an online perfect/Nordic mug special.
If Andrews & Dunham Damn Fine Tea had a sale I’d jump on it so fast!
Still irritated about Verdant.
I just did a Verdant order. I’m not very smart. I would have had even more to pick from if I had waited. Darn impulse control.
seems like the past few years David’s did big Boxing Day sales more than anything on Black Friday or Cyber Monday
In Canada Boxing Day is the big sale day – though that seems to be changing more every year. I was surprised to see every single flyer this week had Black Friday written on the front. Even PetValu and the Bulk Barn, haha.
Why irritated about Verdant? Hoping I didn’t miss anything since I already placed an order today. :/
Tea is the only thing I shop for on Black Friday.
I also just picked up the clearance Take me to India gift set from David’s for $11.70 shipped. :D And did another Tea Forte order. They have some good specials right now.
Verdant’s advertising for Black Friday was confusing to some of us and made is sound like their tea would be on sale. I got up at 1am EST to shop for it. :(
Oh, that would definitely be irritating! Selfishly, I’m glad I didn’t miss sale prices though haha.
I’m in at David’s so far, but not too badly. I LOVE the David’s Teas nordic mugs….the basket for steeping is perfect for all my teas except really fine ctcs. I got one for my uncle for his birthday…its so fun to watch an old irishman rediscover tea! At thanksgiving last night I shared some Castleton Moonlight and he was amazed. I needed a tea disciple, so I’m a gonna keep it going with this mug! http://www.davidstea.com/white-snowflakes-nordic-mug?&TF=69F219E5A1A1&DEID= (snowflake design, so it can go in the dishwasher….those color changing ones can’t go in the dishwasher OR microwave)
Lupicia on Monday for their Carol blend, and restocking my Assam from somewhere…..
All done: Teavivre and Taiwan Tea Crafts.
Awesome companies, awesome tea, awesome sales. Enough said!
Joseph Wesley . Limited Edition Da Hong Pao and Qi Lan.
Mandala
Harney & Sons teawear
Crimson Lotus
Yunnan Sourcing
My plan is to not buy anything tea related as I have way too much, I don’t care how good of a deal it is.
So far so good and I think I’ll be able to hold out past Cyber Monday.
Placed an order at White2Tea. Planning another one with Yunnan Sourcing.
Also contemplating What-Cha, Mandala, Verdant, Whispering Pines, and Crimson Lotus but at best I can probably only manage an order from one more.
RIP wallet.
Several samples of their pricier stuff (the new 1992 Xiaguan Shu, their dry stored Yiwu, etc), and a few cakes of their mid-level shengs (Repave, etc).
I almost forgot I had a $10 voucher for Verdant. Got an ounce of their new 1999 shu and just had to pay $0.50 and shipping for it.
From YS, I got a cake of their 2000 CNNP Lincang shu. I picked up a sample of it a few weeks back and loved it. If I hadn’t gone nuts at W2T I probably would have gotten a second cake.
