I received ThainofBuckland’s card today. Such a pretty card! And Jasmine pearls and Sencha with Matcha. Just a question though- are these paper bags teabags? Can I just dump the whole thing in a cup or am I supposed portion them out?
=( I also got some cards returned to me for more postage. Grr…. I’ve stuck more stamps on, if they come back I’ll have to go buy more. Fingers crossed!
I put two ounces in the tea bags. The tea bags are unbleached paper, I think. Depending on how much tea you need to brew, you could probably use the whole bag or use part of what’s in the bag, or skip the bag entirely. I need the bags that Nicole used. I hope you enjoy it. I was worried that the envelopes weren’t flat enough.
I got them here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZZYAIA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Less than a penny a bag as long as you can get the free shipping with either Prime or a $35 order. And 500 bags has lasted me a looong time. :)
today i received card from KiwiDelight. Thank you very much for the teabags..not only additional to my collection i got to drink them too.
I’m glad that they’re new! I was a little worried they were not.
carol who’s came today!! As soon as I opened the envelope the fragrance of the lapsang souchong leapt out xD
I just got carol who’s as well! The card is completely adorable!
I thought the card from Carol Who was cute, too. :)
I sent all of my cards out yesterday and was really bummed that my post office seems to be super strict about the rules…She said that my envelopes were not uniformly flat (although none of the cards I’ve received so far have been any more uniform than mine)and that they had to slide through the 1/4" slot effortlessly (not even a tiny tap to get them through). When I mentioned the thing about sending them with the “large envelope” price, she said again that it had to be perfectly flat. I showed her the card I’d received from Nicole (because I happened to have it in my purse still in its envelope with the tea inside and the $0.49 postage on it) and she said, “Well, somebody clearly wasn’t doing their job that day.”
Soooooo…..she made me pay the parcel price for all of them :( I still wanted you all to get your cards, so I went ahead and did it. But, I think next year I’m going to go at a less busy time and maybe just use the little self-serve kiosk thingy and see what happens. Anyway, at least I know they’ll get to everyone without any trouble! :) There’s always an upside!
And I’ve gotten 4 cards as of last night from Nicole, Flyawaybirdie, KiwiDelight, and ThainofBuckland! I’ve been super busy at work this week, so I didn’t get to post about it until now. I’ll come back and post again to say what I got. Thank you to each of you, though! My mailbox has never smelled so good!!
That’s a real bummer. :( My guy didn’t even say a peep about the thickness, just asked if it could be bent. Then he weighed it and put the .49 on it. :(
Sorry you had to pay more for yours. I promise to enjoy the tea even more. ;)
I wasn’t so much bothered by having to pay more as I was by how she handled it. She must have been having a bad day. If I had known before that she wasn’t going to let me send them at the $0.49 rate, I would have tried the kiosk instead. But, I felt like she would be watching me and I chickened out hahaha. I was more sad that I could have sent you all a bunch more samples in a bubble mailer for the same price. I didn’t feel like taking them all home and repacking them at that point, though. Oh well. I’m still happy to have been a part of this! I’ve got all of my cards hanging along the sides of my doorway going from my living room into my office. It looks super cute and festive! Makes me smile every time I walk into my office :)
This was my first time sending them. I didn’t have a problem with the size I guess, and the person who helped me was nice, but he told me to use three stamps each, so that’s what I did. I still have some Rudolph stamps left. Does anybody want to do this again? I’m working on adding more tea to my collection.
Some of my cards with one stamp came back to me and so I copied ThainofBuckland’s three stamps. I really hope that they go through this time!
I got Carol Who’s and Flyawaybirdie’s cards today. Christmas blend, a jasmine tea and Earl Grey Moonlight. I think I’m getting a cold, but now I’ll enjoy the tea even more. Tea is good for colds, right?
- I put names by accident.
I got my card and tea from The Cookie Lady today. She put Birthday Cake from David’s (One of my favorites!!!) and Neptune from Lupicia in a very cute card. Thanks very much. :)
Two cards today. Thain of Buckland sent me Steepster’s Bombay Chai, which I’ll brew stove-top tonight. Smells delish!
Veronica sent me Organic Ginger Pu’erh (I can’t believe all of that is only 1 serving…) and Single Origin Tea’s Vietnam OP1, which is nummy!
I was surprised the first time I read the instructions for the pu-erh. One tablespoon for 8 ounces of water is a lot!
Oh, there was more than Chai, wasn’t there? I think I put a second tea.
I received cards from Flyawaybirdie and Ost today. Thank you! So much wonderful tea in those two tiny packages! Today is going to be a good tea day. :)
I got Veronica’s Ost’s and the Cookie Lady’s cards in the mail. :) Milk Oolong and Jabberwocky, Paris, Ice Wine (?), Assam, Mountain Nectar, and Houljcha(?) Gold. So many teas. Ost’s handmade card is adorable. :) I finally got a Steepster Select box in the mail, so I have those too. What should I make now?, though… Thanks, guys. This definitely has to be one of the best ways of trying new teas. I hope everyone receives their cards.

Awww, I’m sorry! I know I’m one of those offenders. Honestly I wasn’t even thinking of it as a swap until others started using the descriptor in their tasting notes.
The whole thing has been quite a learning experience (for me). Including parameters will hopefully be one of the things I take away from the whole thing!
Although that being said, I tend to be very bad at following parameters outside of what temperature water for what kind of tea.
I’m one of the offenders, too. I’m sorry that I upset you! :(
It’s all good. I guess I was just bitchy yesterday. I felt guilty all evening about the “grumpy old lady” post. :)
