What are your favorite straight tea blends?
Hi everyone, I’d been thinking I wanted to explore unflavored tea blends more recently—the kind that have multiple teas but nothing else added. I realize I don’t know much about the subject, so what are everyone’s favorites and recommendations? What seem to be good combinations? I’m mostly thinking of black teas, but anything else could be good too.
I love Harney’s Queen Catherine. Yunnan, Panyang and Keeumun I believe. I also like Twinings Prince of Wales which is similar, but heavier on the Keemun.
In general I love Assams and Keemuns in my blends.
Queen Catherine sounds like a great one from the description and reviews! I remembering being intimidated by all the blends on the Harney & Sons website the first time I looked, haha. But they do have small samples so I think I’ll try a few with my next order. Thanks for the suggestion!
I like Scottish or Irish breakfast, and Shiva’s Breakfast is really good.
Double Knit Blend by Andrews & Dunham is one of my favorite black tea blend! Their site says it’s a blend of Ceylon and Chinese teas.
Another excellent tea is Second Breakfast by Whispering Pines :) highly recommend it, especially if you are a Lord of the Rings fan!
Double Knit Blend has been on my radar for a while, but is there a way to get a smaller size from Andrews & Dunham?
Unfortunately I haven’t seen it in increments less than 4 oz, but it’s so tasty I don’t mind having that much kicking around, especially in the winter :)
Here are my top 3 right now:
North Winds, Whispering Pines
Full Steam, Hugo Tea
Red Tail Hawk, A &D
Harney has endless list of straight tea blends. i also recommend Damn Fine Tea. Whispering Pines blends are very good and 1oz is great to sample. Really liked Devotea, especially Two Tigers and Finbarr’s Revenge. They have 10% off for steepster
