teazon.com / realypay credit card fraud
Just a warning that there is a site by the name of teazon.com that strongly appears to be a scam.
The catalog and product descriptions are copied from http://puerhshop.com/ This is highly suspicious given that they sell vintage products that are no longer in production and hard to source.
Their payment page, realypay, is listed in hundreds of scam reports.
There is no response to the contact form at realypay or at teazon.
There is not confirmation of order via email, only a payment confirmation email.
Its not possible to log into their site or to reset the password.
Apparently , the site is not indented to sell tea, only to accept payment.
It may be intended to give you a computer virus. Or it may be that they have just not designed their site well? Do they accept paypal? I think it is hard for a total scam site to make the requirements to accept paypal. They have to prove bank information and so forth.
They don’t accept paypal. they only accept realypay.

Fake webshops have been on the news a fair bit recently in this country. They were having a sort of theme about it. Educating the public on how to spot a scam and that sort of thing. Apparently upwards of 10% of all webshops on the internet are scams. That’s a scarily high amount. Rather makes one wonder how one managed to avoid falling into any traps yet…
The site looks very sketchy. Lots of bad grammar. Parts read like an Aliexpress ad.
My current anti scam strategy is as follows:
1. order from sites recommended by other people
2. If I find a new unknown tea site, research it. check:
-when the site was first published
-how they process credit cards
-if their content appears word-for-word on another site.
-if they respond to inquiries.
In any case, there are enough good tea sites that we already know about from existing reviews, that there is not much reason to experiment with unknown sites. Even if they do actually ship the tea, it might be low quality / have nasty chemical it in etc…
My strat includes if they take paypal. At least if I pay with paypal I can get my money back through them instead of the seller. Paypal is pretty solid in favoring the buyer.
Update: I was contacted by teazon after they saw this post. They informed me that they are ‘not cheaters’ but do not have the items that I ordered in stock.
I was told that I will receive refund.
to date, no refund has been received, so I filed a case with the credit card company to return the funds.
