After much discussion, looks like we will be doing a 50% off sale.

Anyone interested in participating in the sale, please clear out your shopping carts and refresh every page you purchase from. We are bagging all of the teas now in anticipation and will be making a lot of changes to the website in the next 2 days. Using old carts and old versions of our website will cause us a lot of problems. Unfortunately, because we are using PayPal as a shopping cart, it is pretty much a huge headache. We will let everyone know in advance when our site is up to date and give at least a good hour before announcing the sale (hopefully on Wednesday).

Ah! Can’t wait for this, I’ll be refreshing this page all day to try and catch the heads-up! Any idea roughly around what time I should start doing this?

Also I’m looking to try my first Darjeelings during this last sale, just to get a grasp of what Darjeelings are ‘supposed’ to taste like. Kinda liking the sound of the Glenburn Estate & Glenburn Moonlight, but what are your favorite recommendations for a first-flush and a second-flush?

I know this isn’t what you asked for but the Organic Sourenee Black Blossom is not to be missed! While still a Darjeeling, this one is not at all typical but it is so oustanding!

This one is not a Darjeeling (as it is from Bihar, India) but the Doke Rolling Thunder oolong is phenomenal.

The Glenburn Estate Darjeelings are great. The Estate one is a good representation of a high quality Darjeeling.

Oh damn. I really should’ve checked this board before placing my order. Ah well, tasty teas are mine all the same, and I don’t have to worry about stocking issues. Thanks for everything, Stacy. Butiki will be missed.

Most of the teas that are up now should be up tomorrow but some are just barely hanging on. The sale should start late (some time at night) but if possible, you might want to order as soon as you can. The flavored teas will definitely be the first to go.

I really want the Plum Compote & Cashew Cake, and Warm Cinnamon Bread. Perhaps Pistachio Horizon and Pumpkin Cider. There seems to be some kind of error when I try to look at my cart. Though that might be my internet.

I tried that a few times. I can’t even access a blank cart by clicking the ‘view cart’ button at the top. I keep getting ‘Internal Server Error – Read’. I guess this is life telling me not to get more tea. ^^;

Huh, I’m not sure what “Internal Server Error – Read” means. We are getting over run with orders right now. Maybe it will work itself out in a minute?

I got it working. I cleared my cache and then closed the window/reopened it and it was fine.
Though now paypal is saying that it’ll be $18 for shipping when I put my zip code in. Oo What happened with the shipping?

I may or may not have made two orders in less than ten minutes once I saw this thread and saw that ordering things in another size could work. No regrets, haha.

I just placed an order for your 50% off sale! However, I encountered a possible glitch with shipping prices. In my current order, shipping is $5.99. I tried to add Oriental Beauty 2oz to the order and the shipping suddenly skyrocketed to $15ish. I thought it was a weight problem, but then I added 2oz more of Gui Fei Oolong (just as a test) and the shipping only reached $7. Sooo I’m not sure if this is normal, but I’d love to send you another payment for the 2oz of Oriental Beauty without having to spend an additional $9 due to increased shipping charges! Let me know if this is possible, thanks!

Have you tried ordering by using a different browser (those of you getting the errors)?

Yeah, I tried on a different browser, cleared cache, history, refreshed multiple times, etc. Didn’t make a different. Not sure what’s going on!

My fix was to switch from Firefox to Chrome !

I should say, I have never used Chrome so I had no previous history, no cookies, no cache for Butiki so I’m guessing that was what helped

Shadowfall-I need to fix the shipping then if it’s more than just 1 person. We will absolutely honor the prices we have up and refund anything extra. I’ll see what I can figure out with the shipping.

Jilian-Can you try purchasing in Chrome. Someone else had a problem and that seemed to fix it or even maybe just a different browser.

Leah-We will be sure to merge your orders and reduce shipping charges.

Zack-That is not normal. I’ll try to fix it now but if you want to order, we can refund any extra shipping charges that occurred.

The only thing that should be extra shipping wise is the Puerh cake since that is a pound.

Bah. I give up. I finally figured out it was the Oriental beauty messing with the shipping. But now most of what I wanted is sold out.

Also, I just noticed on my first receipt that Dark Side of the Melon was registered as full price. I totally don’t mind if it is – same quantity. But if it was supposed to be included, I wanted to make sure you knew in case this happened with anyone else ordering it. I would have caught it sooner, but my tea-shopping blackout prevented rational thought. :)

I just placed another order, 2oz of Oriental Beauty and 2oz of Lapsang.. for some reason the shipping total was $13, equivalent to the total $ of the teas. Glitch in the Oriental Beauty Id guess. Anyway, please combine my orders and adjust shipping for my refund =)

I had the same problem as others with the shopping cart. I run Firefox and had to go into Tools>Options and to the Privacy tab and clear all my recent history. Then the shopping cart worked again.

got it to work…sort of. Unfortunately it doesn’t tell me which teas are out of stock until after I hit checkout. From the looks of things it’s not worth paying the shipping to Canada for the teas that are left.

I did not – I used the link in your post, and the cart was cleared beforehand. No matter though, if you can change it on your end, I appreciate it. Apologies to require any more additional work for you when things are so hectic!! :)

Okay, I got it to finally work (by then a bunch of the teas I wanted had run out of stock :’() but I had to use Internet Explorer (ugh, lol!)! Who knew IE would be my savior in a time of need :P

I have a feeling when my tea arrives I am going to have another blackout of happiness moment. I normally could never have afforded to splurge this much. Though between now and then I have a lot of tea drinking to hope to have a place to put them!
