I found this on Verdant, the mandatory cats.

Just for fun a mini musical travelog
India: Chaiyya Chaiyya (English Subtitles) – Dil Se… HD: http://youtu.be/YOYN9qNXmAw
You’ve probably heard some version of it before. When I was in India it was everywhere. Favourite memories: my friends 3 year old goddaughter dancing to it on the roof. She was really good at it. Dancing to it around the Bonfires lit on the streets for the cleansing on the note before Holi.
Ecuador Shakira – Ojos Así: http://youtu.be/5BzkbSq7pww
Her Lebanese roots are strong in this one and there were many Lebanese immigrants in my neighbourhood.
Very cheesy but this ewas at all the clubs
Chocolate – Mayonesa: http://youtu.be/5zgmOnmT0k8
I love this song
Latin Brothers y Gabino Pampini – Tormenta: http://youtu.be/WUsjI_-sADM
Fond memories of music blasting through buses and ducking down at traffic checkpoints to hide the fact that it was very overcrowded.
Hanging out with Chilean surfers in Montanita
Manu Chao – Me gustas tu: http://youtu.be/mzgjiPBCsss
For France some Klezmer as we used to dance to an amazing band in a club in Montpellier
Italy Giusy Ferreri – Non Ti Scordar Mai Di Me: http://youtu.be/d5CFNgqdy5I
Giusy Ferreri – Novembre: http://youtu.be/orVIoKcJcvU
Fond memories of a road trip on a very hot day.
Love your musical travelog. Sounds like you had some amazing times. I love international music and really dug the Giusy Ferreri songs you posted.
I’m a big fan of Cheb i Sabbah. He does international music, some Middle East, Indian, and African. Here are some links if you are interested in checking him out:

I think I’m in a Bhangra/ Bollywood mood today. I might have to pull out Devdas ( the only true bollywood movie I own to get it out of my system). I love the music from North Africa as well.
Giusy is pretty amazing. I decided to post something different than Opera though one of the places I stayed in for a while had its own Opera house for a town of 3000 and was within 45 minutes of the birthplace of Rossinni.
Oooh, Bhangra/Bollywood mood sounds awesome! Years ago on a fitness channel that I used to watch there was a Bhangra dance workout. It was so much fun.
I dig a lot of opera but just haven’t really heard a whole lot. Would love some links if you have any recommendations. Sometime in the 90s I was a fan of Die Form (post-industrial, French group). The woman’s vocals got me into the opera genre even though that music was not opera music. Here is Die Form if you would like to check them out but it is very gothy and older.

I remember that! I have to think about some recommend at jobs, like you I haven’t heard that many pieces. Most of the operas I’ve seen have been Mozart’s and I once had the scores for Carmen and La Traviata.
Loved that one. Those are words to start your day everyday.
I will listen to this forever…
I find dance flash mobs to be inspiring. So much unbridled joy!!!!! This is my absolute fave!

Whoa, that looks like so much fun!
Love me some bollywood dance, so much fun!!
Bollywood is totally my fave, TTF!!!!
It is fun! I was in Jaipur during wedding season. I went to 4 that I was formally invited to. One was my friends God brothers wedding so we stayed with the grooms party for a week, but we were some times pulled into the streets to join the processional of some grooms party on the way to his wedding. Lots of fun.
More bollywood because this is what I’m in the mood for. The music here is a bit more traditional because its set in the turn if the 20 the century

Have you seen Bride and Prejudice?
Yeah, Marz, like 1000 times LOL. Love it!
I own it. So yes many times. I enjoy it, the director loves poking fun at her two heritages.
We make people watch it when they come over and they always love it.
Oooooh the bus driver one!!!! I love the bus driver one!!!!

STACY, NOW I WANT BOTH!!!!!!!!

Mwhaaha, my work is done. Chinchillas are great pets. My chinchilla is such a sweetheart.
Eventually, I will have a capybara, goat, pig, pitbull, and weimaraner herd. Pretty sure my neighbors will hate me.
