Programming Glitch
I have discovered a minor programming glitch. It won’t let me add a new tea in some instances. When I try to add a Dayi 0532 as Menghai Tea Factory(Yunnan Sourcing) it won’t let me add it. When I change it to Yunnan Sourcing Menghai Tea Factory it will. That particular tea does not come up from Yunnan Sourcing. There are other instances where the computer inexplicably bounces an attempt to add a new tea as well.
The origin of the tea is really Menghai factory so in the title “2014 Menghai Dayi 0532.” Whatever year it is. For the “Company,” that is where you put Yunnan Sourcing.
You misunderstand the problem. I know how to enter the information. I have entered information for 100 teas so far. It simply won’t let me enter the information I want to properly describe the name of the company that made the tea with the name of the company the sold it. Simply put it bounces and I am forced to change my input to get it not to bounce. Simply put it is a computer glitch. I do not know the cause.
Allan could it be a spacing issue? Everything that I have seen with brackets has had a space before them. Maybe it is not accepting it as one word if what you wrote above is what you tried to enter in the computer.
Sounds like it doesn’t like your parentheses. Instead of trying to create a new tea company though, or trying to make multiple different tea companies for the different factories that YS has, I agree with Cwyn that you should put the factory in the name and keep the company as just YS. You bought it from YS, YS is the company that sells it, added the factory makes it more complicated, and harder for others to then find the teas.
There is definitely a programming glitch. In particular when you try to add or update a new tea from Menghai Tea Factory. It will not let you add it as anything but “Menghai Tea Factory” or using the options from the drop down menu. Anything else causes the tea addition to bounce. I post this in the hope that the moderator of the forum will look into it and fix it.
This could also be fixed by adding a separate spot to place where you sourced a tea from.
