Pretty much anyone that loves tea but also Howard Zinn since reading his books had a strong impact on me.
Jasper Fforde! He is my favourite living author and it would be great to celebrate two of my favourite ‘things’ at once. It would be amazing to meet him and bug him about doing another Shades of Grey book. And another Thursday. And a Nursery Crime. Stat!
This may be silly….with the characters from Avonlea on PEI. Avonlea was my favorite show as a girl. I Bought the whole series and watch the episodes as an adult. They were always drinking tea on the show. PEI is still a place I would love to visit someday. Does anyone else remember Avonlea?
I loved watching Avonlea as a kid!
Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo Baggins, or Thorin Oakenshied… I can’t decide.
Radagast! And all of his cute animal friends! :D
lkssfadsfjffgfkj the Valar, Elrond, Glofindel, Galadriel, movie!Eowyn, Turin (hahahaha kidding for the last one)
And…….TOLKIEN!
We should each invite one Wizard or Elf then.
Long story short: many years ago, I traveled in New Zealand (and I’d go back in a second). When I was hitchhiking, I was picked up by a lovely couple in their 60s. Several years later, Yvonne decided to come to my wedding (I live in Boston) because she was planning to visit old friends in England and, as she said, “America is just a hop over the pond from there.” While in town, she contacted one of her favorite writers, May Sarton, who lived as a bit of a recluse in York, Maine, an hour away. Much to her surprise, Ms. Sarton agreed. I always loved the image of these two ladies “of a certain age,” one a renowned writer, the other a lifelong fan, sitting together over tea and pastries.
Who would I invite? My late father (even though he was a hard-core coffee drinker), so I could catch him up on the last 11 years of my and my kids’ lives; Philip K. Dick, because I’ve got a few questions for that guy; Nicola Tesla, mostly just so I could be in the presence of that level of genius; oh and let’s throw in Lewis Carroll, who I’m sure knew all about a proper tea and would regale me with fantastical stories all the while.
Chaucer came to mind, also for the stories.
Would love to have tea with Nikola Tesla, let me know if you ever make this happen in any universe.
I would like to have tea with a buncha owls at an Owl cafe in Japan.

That or a friendly T Rex wearing a little top hat. Pretty weird, but the photographs would be cool!
I am such an owl fan & I had no idea owl cafes existed! I’d LOVE to go to an owl cafe, the pictures look so fun!!
Seems like a totally realistic dream. (Too adorable!)
Imelda Marcos, the widow of former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos. I’d talk to her about shoes.
Either I would want a fancy English style tea party with Sir Richard Burton, Gandalf (The Grey, Gandalf the White seems to busy) and Nikola Tesla (who can of course bring his pigeons)
or I would want a really fancy Gongfu Tea with Guan Yu and Zhuge Liang. I am hoping in this hypothetical perfect scenario that I am very fluent in whichever dialect of Chinese was spoken during the Warring States period…and properly dressed because clothes back then were awesome.
My entire White Knights guild from Hong Kong and Garrus Vakarian, though I suppose he would require the dextro hard likker…
I totally forgot about Garrus! Maybe he could just be in charge of calibrating the tea :P
Can we have Wrex there, too? :P
He’ll need a bag of ice, lol.
