I sampled the following SOT teas before I packed:

The ones I tried were really nice and I think y’all will be really happy with them. The only one I kept any of was the Jun Chiyabari – and I LOVED that one so much I wanted to keep it all, but I restrained my greedy self and only kept a tablespoon. I really, really wanted to keep it y’all. It was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted – with a very interesting floral/winey, almost-muscat-y note that I adored. It likely won’t be everyone’s favorite but it was mine. The oolong was really nice orchid-y oolong.
The box is a bit bigger than I wanted, but there wasn’t an in-between size – the next size down was too small. I didn’t use a flat rate box. Shipping was slightly less than $7. There is room for more tea in it.

Oh I know how much restraint you had with that Jun Chiyabari. It is AMAZING. Sadly, my sample lost its flavor quickly though (however Single Origin has replaced their packaging since then), so it really should be enjoyed when it is fresher/ stored properly. But I want to plan a whole Single Origin order just around the Jun Chiyabari!

The box just arrived at my house! I have work in a scant hour but I’ll be tasting/posting reviews in the coming days. So much tea. o: It looks like one of the packages was sealed incorrectly because there are stray leaves in the bottom of the box. Not an overwhelming amount, but still.

Ooh, I’m excited! The teas you added look amazing. I’ve yet to try teas from SOT or Mandala, so this will be a treat!
WOW this list is amazing. I’m going to have to think of my very best teas to include, and it still probably wouldn’t come close to what MzPriss and Kimquat added. Kind of intimidating! It doesn’t help that most of my teas are flavored. I’ll try though! I’d say this is the highest quality teabox going right now. Also, I am glad to see more Wild Monk. :D
I hope you guys enjoy it! I tried to include a good amount/variety. A lot of it is green and oolong because sadly, most of my black teas are flavored. I forgot that there was already Wild Monk in the box…but I guess it was a good mistake. (: The box has been shipped. It was just under $9.
Veronica: I am leaving on Vacation for a week on June 28. If you can ship the box by the 24th at the latest I should be Fine. I’ve rented a cottage and can just bring the box with me. However, if that schedule doesn’t work then we may need to re-work the schedule.
Dr. Jim – Thank you for letting me know about your vacation. I’m guessing that the box will be here Saturday or Monday, so that should give me plenty of time to sample and still get the box to you before you leave.

Unfortunately, there was some damage to the box. The top was caved in some, and I could see loose tea along the tape. It looks like the container of Queen Catherine came open en route and about half of it spilled into the box. As much as I hate to see wasted tea (especially such a tasty tea!) this problem is easily fixed since I have a tin of Queen Catherine sitting in my cupboard. All of the other teas look fine, but I checked the seals on everything just to make sure. I’ll replace the box before sending it to Dr. Jim, but for now I have to decided which tea to try first!
