Cast iron teapot
I know this sounds silly but is there really a difference between inexpensive cast iron tea pots and the hugely expensive cast iron teapots. When I can see perfectly lovely teapots for $20 why should I spend $100?
Mostly the difference is between a tetsubin and a cast iron teapot. The usual cast iron teapot is coated with enamel and is not suited for putting directly on a heat source. A true tetsubin does not have it’s interior lined with enamel and is a tea kettle made for putting on a stove and heating up the water.
I got a $20 one from World Market, and sometimes they are on sale for $15. I use it a lot and it still looks new so I don’t get how Teavana sells the one that’s $230!
I would be using my Breville to make the tea and then pour it into the tea pot. I think that would work well without paying fortune. Thanks for the help! :D
