eMail Settings?

My email settings are set up ONLY to notify me when someone comments on one of my tasting notes. However, I currently have over 1600 emails from Steepster…HELP! I am getting notifications on every thread I have ever commented on and then some…can anyone help?
Honestly part of the problem is that I have been sickly for awhile and not bothering with email even when I am online…
so this ridiculous amount of email is probably since Christmas. :~(

Hope you feel better CelebriTEA.
When you comment on a thread it auto subscribes you to the topic and you get email notifications. You have to manually unsubscribe from every topic that you don’t want to receive emails from. Click on the blue bell icon in the upper right had side of the screen.
Hope hat helps.

I try to remember to unsubscribe to posts I comment on because the email notification is a bit obnoxious, but it is hard to remember sometimes. It is the only way I have found to curb the emails.

If you use gmail, you can filter certain keywords/senders straight to trash without reading them. So things marked ‘New Reply’ from Steepster get marked read and go straight to trash for me.

Unsubscribing would probably make sense to, but I’m all about efficiency.

That is a really good idea! I’ll have to check the filter options on yahoo.

I would much prefer an “opt in” for emails on new posts in threads, but I just try to remember to unsubscribe in each topic.

There is a small box at the bottom of the twxtbox where you can opt in or out of updates for new topics. Unfortunately I usually forget about it as it is so small and it defaults for automatic updates.

It used to default that you DIDN’T get spammed with messages. I miss that. If you don’t rely on the e-mails for other info from Steepster I think you can turn them off in your account settings.

I got so frustrated that I wound up setting my email spam filter to block steepster. It was right after a software drop and I thought it was a bug, but in fact I had just commented on the bug fix thread and was getting a hundred emails a day.

This is not recommended. It turns out that my email provider also notified steepster and I can’t turn it back on.
