Can anyone recommend a decent Chai?
Can anyone recommend a decent Chai? I have been trying forever to find one. I have tried several different types, and I just really can’t get into them, but I know that I would really like Chai if I tried the right one. It seems that with every tea that I have tried the spices way overpower the actual tea. In fact, I can’t even taste the black tea in most of the chai teas that I have tried, and that is my favorite part! If anyone has any recommendations for chai teas that still taste like tea I would be grateful forever!
I don’t know if this would have enough black tea flavor for you, but it’s my favorite Chai. Mile High Chai from the Tea Spot in Boulder,CO. On several teas that I want to have more black tea flavor, I just add a bit. I mix it in with the whole bag or tin since I don’t want to mess with it every time.
That tea sounds good! I have tried adding in my own black tea before, but with varying levels of success… Sometimes I just end up oversteeping the black tea so then I have this really weird tasting tea. I guess I just have to figure out the right amount of black tea to use! Thanks for the heads up about the Mile High Chai too!
In really like Verdants chai spice. Than I can add my own black tea. That way you can control how much tea flavor you want.
It really depends on what you like best in a chai. Do you prefer a sharper spicy heat, or something sweeter?
Also, you should totally just try brewing a blend of a chai with a plain black tea you know you like. Best of both worlds!
I have greatly enjoyed the original blend of yogic chai at http://www.yogicchai.com/. All organic ingredients including fair traded organic Assam Tea. Yummy to my family’s taste buds.
