How do I care for my new Yixing tea set?

I’ve recently received a Yixing tea set. Usually when I steep my tea, I use more modern means of doing so such as a french press style steeper.

I need to know the basics on caring for my new clay set? How do I prep it before its first use? How often do I use it? How do I prevent it from cracking?

Any info or links to good reads on this would be much appreciated.
