Wednesdays. Tea club meeting, Penn State.
Chanoyu classes – most weekends in March and April. Penn State.
Had a great time at the Chinese tea ceremony class! http://annaea.wordpress.com/2014/01/26/chinese-tea-gongfu-style/ Full details there.
Tea club yesterday was good. The ‘first meeting of the year try it out’ crowd from last week wasn’t there, and we had an overview lecture about the Tea Institute and the opportunities it offers. It turns out that I don’t have to sit the exam everyone’s been discussing, because that’s the gongfu cha exam. I’m sitting the Japanese tea club, and would be admitted to the Institute if I progress far enough with my Chanoyu to be admitted to the school in Japan. It’s an interesting opportunity and I look forward to seeing how things develop with it over the next few years. Guess I’d better get back to learning Japanese!
Unpleasant weather is keeping me away from tea club this evening. I love tea, and I like the club meetings and everyone I am meeting, but not enough to try and drive eight hours in this mess for a general meeting. If it were for chanoyu…. that would be different. The class schedule came out!
