Best Find in 2013

I was going to say Steepster like several others here have, but I first have to credit finding loose leaf teas as a new adventure, then by a simple Google search I found Steepster… and all of you!

Now I’m on the journey to learn what Hubby and I like and put a few staple teas in our cabinet, along with rotating some seasonal and/or different teas for the seasons. I know.. a good dream to have as many of you note that your stash only just continues to grow.

Greatest find? Steepster. Most definitely. :)

I’ve just started getting into teas though, and I’d have to say if I hadn’t had received such an amazing tea (Cha Yen Thai from Teavana) for Christmas I don’t think I ever would have ventured any further than I had.

Other notables:
Just finding Della Terra Teas in general – wouldn’t have been if not for Steepster
Chocolate Orange by Davids
Choconut Oolong by Davids

Della terra is amazing for flavored teas!

Steepster, also for me :) If I hadn’t discovered this site, I wouldn’t know where to find really good teas nor would I know anything about gaiwans or yixing teapots. My knowledge about tea in general broadened.

Like many have said this wonderful community!

Otherwise, the wonders of aliexpress, which have allowed me to explore Chinese teas at a price I can afford and has helped me I’d which teas I am willing to invest more money in.

King Zen teas Osmanthus Dancong which to this date is my favourite oolong of this type. ( Their golden monkey was pretty unique as well).

An expansion of my black tea love from mainly Assams to an ever increasing variety.

My best find of 2013 was the Tea Institute at Pennsylvania State University. The institute runs an on campus tea house, and provides the opportunity to study with Chinese, Japanese, and Korean tea masters, as well just doing generally tons of cool tea stuff, and supporting tea academia in the US.

Steepster is my best find of 2014. ROFL

Found CNNP 2003 sheng in Kuala Lumpur, in rather esoteric “local” tea shop. Strong taste and aroma, mighty hints of prunes, wood and slight smokiness- came in very handy to replace my fav sheng of approx the same age I had long ago- won’t drink it everyday, but when in mood for strong aroma and taste- that’s my choice.
