Lupicia Happy Bags - 2014
I was just wondering if their shipping was always this slow. Still shows my order as processing. Possibly overloaded by orders? The bad weather is probaby a factor if their located in the state’s. So much snow is happening all over the place.
Found the contents of one 60$ bag this year…someone else posted that the two 30$ bags they bought had the same contents, but didn’t specify what was in the 30$ ones.

I finally got my package at 9:00PM. UPS knows how to keep it reasonable with their delivery times, haha. Anyway, I purchased the thirty dollar happy bag online, so if you purchase stores, it might be different? I’m not sure how this works since we don’t have a Lupicia in Las Vegas.
Sakurambo, 10 Tea Bags ($7.50)
Jasmin Mandarin Special Grade, 10 Tea Bags ($8.50)
Grapefruit Green, 10 Tea Bags ($7.50)

In total, $61.00US worth of tea! I think I am set for the next few months. :)
I ordered a $60 bag. I got mine almost right away, on the 6th. But maybe that’s because I bought mine immediately after midnight on 1/1 and I live in the bay area.
My bag was almost identical to Sil’s except I got Elderflower & Chamomile instead of Paradise Green.
I’m fairly new to Lupicia, so I’m pretty happy with the variety of tea I got. The Napa Blanc was one of my favorites even before getting the happy bag, so I’m really happy I got another bag :) I tried Chocolate & Strawberry Puer today and it smelled divine (smelled just like those strawberry-flavored chocolate snacks you can find at a Japanese grocery store) and tasted delicious.
Here’s what’s in the $30 bag:
sakurambo: black tea with japanese cherry
grapefruit green**
jasmin Mandarin special *
sencha matsuri*
te de frutas decaf
strawberry and vanilla green tea (takes milk reasonably well)
lychee
good morning.
I spoke to Lupicia and all the $30 bags have the same tea in them. Let me know if someone wants to swap…. I don’t drink green teas, so would be willing to swap them for black.
My $60 bag was the same as Banao’s, including the Elderflower & Chamomile (which I would have rather have than the Paradise Green anyway). There are only three of the teas that I know going into it I will not drink (there may be more after I try a serving, haha), so that’s pretty good.
I have to say that I preferred it when the bags were truly a grab bag, and every bag was different. They didn’t sell out too quickly this year, so next year I might just wait to see what they have in them before ordering one.
I guess a little variety will make it fun, but the cheapskate side of me doesn’t want to be disappointed with a sad selection either. I wish Lupicia happy bag was like the ones sold in Japan. In Japan, you can purchase a bag that contains just tea bags, or if you prefer black tea, you can get black teas only.
