hi, how often do you clean yours with the cleaner or lemon or whatever method you are using? Min is new- only a few weeks old so far I rinse with water or dish soap and water but know I will need to do some good cleaning periodically. It came with one packet i will try but I’m wondering how often most people feel it needs to be done. Once a week? Once a month?

If I’m brewing similar style teas or going from consistently darker teas, never. I just rinse it. Just a few steepes of a darker tea and I’ll the same applies.
But a few weeks ago I had steeped some strong and not so great tasting teas for about a week straight. I cleaned with vinegar, scrubbed carefully with steel wool, and ran it through a boiling cycle at maximum time a few times.
It got the unwanted flavor out and was ready for any tea.

The best way I’ve found to clean it is by using melamine foam (magic erasers). I only clean it after a lot of stains build up. For the most part, if I’m disciplined and I rinse it out immediately after I drink the tea, the stains don’t really set.
