I have my shipping number but the USPS is still showing it’s last scan as New Delhi :(

Some of ours said the same thing and then they were delivered today. No other tracking info, just origin scan then delivery. Hoping yours shows up soon!

My charming hand-addressed, cloth-wrapped, thread-stitched, wax-dripped package from Golden Tips has arrived! The tally:

1 green
6 darjeeling
2 assam
1 nilgiri

Time to get to sippin’!

I got 7 Darjeeling, 2 Assam and 1 Nilgiri. Curious though, I thought this month’s box was supposed to be fresh summer teas, but mine are a mixture of 2013’s and “winter”.

I got an email that said the September box has already been shipped as of a few days ago – perhaps that will contain the fresh summer ones?

I got that email too. Keeping my fingers crossed. :)

I didn’t get that email.

I got an email, but it was for my August box that came yesterday (same tracking number).

Sherapop thank you so much for the very charming description of our subscription box :)

Thank you, Golden Tips Teas India, for the lovely package of excellent teas! ;-)

Hi everyone. Hope you have recieved your packages. We would like to bring to your notice that this box contains an assortment of 6 teas from 2014 and 4 2013 harvest teas out of which 1 is a winter tea and another is a Nilgiri green tea which is great and something you will really like. Our blenders had to include that in this months box.
Apart from that we have 5 fresh second flush teas from the 2014 harvest including our signature masala chai tea blend. Just start sipping and we are hopeful you like all of them :) We would like to again apologize for the delay in the delivery of this months box. However your Sep box is already shipped out and you will all receive the tracking details tomorrow. The extra set of samples as promised for the delay will however be in the October box. We are awaiting your reviews now. Thank You!

In our monthly box we will try to keep a mix of various flushes of teas. Our current box has 4 second flush teas and the september box will have many more. :)

my box arrived today, unfortunately – opened by customs – my halmari gold assam sample was cut open (and left open!) for inspection… :(
hope the sniff dogs didn’t drool into it lol)
left was untouched and parcel was sealed up with plastic again, so hence the delay from Amsterdam (was there 2 days)

I received 6 x Darjeeling, (some of my favourite estates!) 2 x Assam, 1x Nilgiri black and 1x green

Oh no! That’s frustrating!

Oooh. That really sucks. People are so inconsiderate.

Which estates are your favorites?

some of my fave estates are: Arya (my personal no. 1); Risheehat; Gopaldhara; Thurbo (esp. their oolongs, they are Heaven in a cup!) and Okayti

What i got for my Aug box:

arya ruby ftgfop1 ruby
gopaldhara clonal ftgfop1 queen
thurbo winter wonder ftgfop1
margaret’s hope ftgfop1 CL Tip
seeyok muscatel ftgop1
phuguri ftgop1 CL
Daily Nilgiri ftgop1 signature
Soula Assam sftgfop1
Halmari Gold gtgfop1 CL
Virgin emereld green darjeeling ftgfop1

Darjeelings were my 1st love, and the first tea I drank loose leaf, before discovering new (green/(Taiwan)-oolong) teas. I will always have a weak for a proper Darjeeling though :) so pretty chuffed with my samples.

Thanks! I got those as well. I think I’ll start with Arya today. :)

drank most of the Halmari Gold away today (best Assam I ever had)
Drinking Seeyok now. Superb darjeeling!
will try to post first tasting notes later this week.

I am so happy to find Steepster and this whole community of tea lovers. During the weekend I ended up with buying the Golden Tips Tea’s montly club and can´t wait to receive my first samples in a week or so. Unfourtanely the tracking don’t seem to work. Anyone else having problems with that?

I also ended up buying samples from teabox, so if anyone wants 25 $ discount on their order just post your email address and I will send you an invitation. :) If you buy something I will also get 25 $, at least that’s what is says on their page.

On another note I am also looking for a monthly club that only consists of Rooibos teas. My sister in law is a huge fan of Rooibos and I would love to give her a subscription to a club. Any recommendations?

Looking forward to start a new journey with tea and thank you all for sharing your experiences.

This subscription is really interesting. I think if Golden Tips can get a few more months under their belt without problems, they will see an increase in interest. Good luck!

I was thinking this morning when I made a cup of Golden Tips, how much I like their packaging. I love seeing when the tea was picked.

I wish other companies would be so detailed. It’s educational and much appreciated.

Yes, I agree, Uniquity. I believe that the delay was just a matter of new program logistical glitches. Their tea is very good, so it’s just a matter of ironing out the wrinkles in program execution…

Thank you for the encouraging reviews. The delay was just a one time thing and that too select customers in USA. After this we have decided to ship all orders well before time so that you can enjoy your new monthly box in the first or second week itself.

Can anyone tell me which carrier their GoldenTips package transferred over to after it arrived in the US? (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.) Mine should be arriving in the next week or so and it’s less stress to know if it’ll be in the mailbox or on the porch. =)

Mine came USPS.

Side note: It came via USPS but was registered mail, so it requires a signature or pick up at the post office.

Gah. That’s what I was afraid of. I always end up playing tag with the post office to get packages that require signature. Thanks!

Dear all, please note that we ship through express courier which delivers in 3-4 working days direct from India for normal orders placed through our website. However, since subscription orders dont have time contraint, we ship through International EMS which takes around 10 working days to deliver. This is just to make it clear for tea lovers who want to place normal orders on our website.

So if when I started my subscription I also had several items in the cart making it also a ‘normal order’, should I expect my subscription teas and my other teas to come separately? The email with the confirmation number said 8-10 working days.
