When you're sick or just feeling bad, what teas are the most comforting to you?

For any stress I drink any of my favorite teas, which change
Sometimes seasonally, sometimes I just find a new favorite.
If I am nauseated I prefer lukewarm chamomile and toast.

I like to drink chamomile with honey and peppermint when I’m sick. They help me enormously. As for off days, a Japanese green or Wuyi Oolong never fail to perk me up.

Mint! Especially for upset tummy, headache or sore throat.

Comfort teas tend to be unflavoured Chinese blacks as those are my faves, but mint also does nicely in there.

Hot water with fresh Moroccan mint, lemon, honey and ginger if things are really bad. Otherwise – Verdant’s Laoshan Black is my favourite pick me up.

Something that has lemon, ginger or both.

If I’m genuinely ill, Adagio’s Foxtrot actually covers all my bases with the peppermint, chamomile and vanilla combination.

If I’ve had a bum day and I’m feeling down, something more like a malty black or a second flush Darjeeling do the trick.

And if the weather has me down (pretty common winter occurrence)I reach for a lot of old favorites, or bright flavors that remind me of sunshine.

Adagio actually has a new line of wellness teas “Body and Soul” http://www.adagio.com/gifts/body_and_soul.html
I have not tried them yet (I just designed the tins that’s how I know about that)

I forgot about Foxtrot! Definitely one of my favorite Adagios, and was a go-to illness tea for me for as long as I had some.

inguna-Fantastic design work!

I’m not terribly interested in the teas, but the tins are lovely!

So nice of you. Thanks. Stacy your ginger/strawberry blend makes me feel better any time :)

inguna-Thanks, that’s very kind of you to say! :)

I purchased the single serving bags of Foxtrot to take with me when I travel. It really is an all purpose tea. Good for an upset stomach, colds or congestion, anxiety, and sleeplessness.

A nice chamomile. Nothing too heavy

My sick teas are a mint blend (spearmint), a ginger blend (usually peach ginger), cranberry tisane, and I also use cinnamon sticks, star anise, real ginger into other teas to modify them to be sick teas.

A milky cup of Chamomile usually does it for me, coupled with a little exercise to get the blood flowing.

If I’m sick, I have ginger, honey and lemon in a jar in the fridge. That’s what I usually drink. If I just need a pick me up, I go for a favourite. Favourite change all the time tho, so it depends on the day and everything.

I just made some of that tonight since I’m coming down with something and heard that mix helps…..I might’ve added too much ginger to my mix though…and it’s awful watery. Lol. Ah well. First time making it I didn’t expect to get it completely right.
