Last post on this. Today is the last day to vote. We will call the winner at midnight. It’s been very exciting watching the votes swing back and forth. If you haven’t voted yet, please do: http://www.butikiteas.com/Contest.html
Also, art submissions are due by Monday!
I voted for the Lemon French Macaroon, however,
I would love to try the Blackberry Lime minus the meringue ;-)
All the entries were very creative…
The blackberry lime one is very tempting. That might be something we consider.
We received some awesome entries this year!
That would be so cool.
I have no idea who came up with the idea, but
I do believe the combination would lovely.
CelebriTea-I think it works perfectly for a guayusa. The flavors would really compliment the earthy guayusa and a touch of cream would be just perfect.
I guess it is ok to tell people now that the contest is over! Blackberry Lime was me, as well as the Baklava!!! :D
Yes! Everyone should come out of their Tea blend superhero lairs!
If I could, I’d totally make Team Butiki t-shirts for you with the names of your blends (Stephanie – you’d get two separate ones, of course).
Anna-Hahaha, that would be awesome!
Stephanie-The baklava may get made if my husband gets his way. Also, one of the judges voted for it as their number 1 and number 2 choice. I had to argue with him for him to change it. The men who voted were all about the baklava.
Mine was second place…Autumn’s Sour Cherry and Rosemary Ice Cream. I was lurking here and not wanting to post or let anything out of the bag til after it ended.
The official winner is Lemon French Macaron!!! Congrats! :)
Heck yeah, Stacy has an extra special talent for white blends, I think! :D
Stephanie-That’s really sweet of you to say!
I think Glenburn Silver Needles is really an outstanding choice for this blend. The fruity, slightly malty needles would pair very well with a cashew, creamy lemon. Can’t wait to get started on this blend! :)
The flavour profile of this one is very similar to one I submitted for Italian Sub Cake….lemony vanilla and almond flavours, among others. I’ll be interested in trying this one when it is released, even though it was my enemy for a week. :P
Nice! I would have liked it if Baklava would have won, but really any of these sounded great!
Oooh, yummy, can’t wait to try it…will definitely order when it becomes available :-)
And here, on a completely unrelated note, are my top five suggestion for Halloween-themed takes on some of the lovely blends from the contest (apologies to everyone for blend name infringement and terrible, terrible puns):
Autumn Zombie Shuffle
Baklav-aaah!
Blackberry Slime Meringue
Lemon French Macabre
Tuk Tuk Die
So when do you expect the blend will be released? How long does this kind of thing usually take?
Well, its really hard to say. Last year I think it took something like 6 months. It’s really hard to say. The shortest time would probably be a month and that is if everything goes smoothly, no ingredients need to be ordered, and the blend isn’t complicated. Average time is probably 2 1/2 months. I would rather make sure everything is perfect than rush to get something out.
And whose is it?
We will leave it up to the winner whether they want to out themselves but we will do a short interview with them about the process and a little bit about themselves.
