EU Travelling Box - (ROUND FOUR - SIGN UP NOW).

Anyone else wish to join?

I meant to reply before, just to say loved the round of the box I joined in, but I will skip this one – I still got samples from the other box to try!

The sign ups are still open but as the rules state ‘this sign up is now only open for Steepster members that have a good standing. In others words I’m sorry but no new members (unless other people can vouch for you)’.

This is nothing personal, the rule was put in place after an incident with a new member during the last round.

He is a tea company rep, orders from them are going well.

Kitty, I understand your point of course. Is Marzi’s comment enough to trust me, or shall I collect more?

Would you be joining the box as a personal venture or would it be to advertise and add your companies teas? I imagine it’s the latter which I’m not sure how I feel about. While the box is to be put together to share different teas, types and companies I dislike it being ‘swayed’ somewhat by a company. All I can offer is to put it down to a vote with the other participants of the box.

If I recall it right, Marzi asked me in the Steepster chat if I knew the traveling box initiative, I liked the idea and thought to participate; that’s all. Believe it or not, I even didn’t think about putting my teas in it.
As a matter of fact, most of the tea I have at home is from nannuoshan.org, so I hardly can avoid adding my teas in the box.

Anyway, if you don’t feel comfortable with that, never mind.
No need to put it down to a vote. Sincerely, it’d be an exaggeration to me. I think that people here has better to do than decide if I should participate or not.

You qualify so I am adding you to the list. You will be at the top of the list so that other participants can try your teas.

Did round one and round two already took place?
Am I supposed to wait till November 30, and then send the parcel to Scheherazade?

Round one and two took place earlier in the year.

This is how the travelling boxes work:
I put together a box of tea samples (which is usually around 30 samples) and I then send that box to the first person on the list. In this case it’s you. So I send you the box of teas and you can take out and try as many teas from the box as you like. You must replace any teas that you take out of the box. So if you take out ten samples then you need to put ten samples back in. If there is a large amount of one tea then you are free to try it and leave the rest in the box for someone else to try, which means you don’t need to replace it as there is some left.

While there is time limit that you can have the box for it is preferable for you to send the box on as quickly as you can. So once you are done with the box (after adding your teas) you contact the next person on the list for round three and once they supply their address you send the box to them.

People can join until 30th November so the list of participants may grow. Though it is only one box that gets passed through all the participants.

All clear now. So we could start even before November 30 and add the new guys at the bottom of the list.
Would you like me to put in the box only tea that you can buy in Europe? Or may I put also tea that is not available? I have a couple of excellent samples from China that I’d be happy to share.

We could start the box before hand though as I am moving house in a couple of weeks I will have to see how much spare time I have. You can put any teas into the box, it’s only called an EU travelling box because it can only be sent around Europe :) So feel free to add any teas you like.

For what it’s worth, I think it’s better to wait until sign ups are closed to start sending the box – that way we can figure out the quickest/cheapest shipping routes etc.
