Best Online Tea Store
Another source of information about online tea stores would be to review the current Steepster tea ratings for:
– Highest-rated teas: http://steepster.com/teas
– Most popular teas: http://steepster.com/teas?sort=popular
and note which tea suppliers offer these well-regarded teas.
Also note, these Steepster results can be filtered by the type of tea you prefer.
That’s a very good point! Since everyone likes different types of teas, this is probably the best way to find the companies that make teas you’ll enjoy.
Very handy! Don’t know why I hadn’t thought of doing that. I wish there was a way to sort search results. Like, say, if I searched for Organic Keemun, I could sort the results by rating or popularity.
Agreed. In fact, here is where one can offer such suggestions:

Verdant Tea…just be aware, they are expensive and they will have more of a selection once spring harvesting kicks into gear.
When I first got into loose leaf I would go nuts on the upton site because of their $1 samples. They are generously sized and you can try a ton of varieties to figure out what you like. Then you can try the higher end of those varieties at other places if you want. Although upton has those too, but sometimes the sheer quantity they have can be overwhelming. And their site needs a little updating :-) but $1 samples. Done.
I second this… Now that I’m into some more unusual teas, I don’t use them as much, but for the beginner enthusiast, using them to narrow down one’s preferences is the best!
I prefer their print catalog for that reason. Their website is a little outdated. I wish more companies had $1-$3 samples, it does help decide what to buy more of.
I like Mellow Monk. It is an online store that sells Japanese green tea. The teas are pretty good.
We are Japanese tea online store Wabisabi from Uji/Kyoto!
