Today I got my first order from Chawangshop in the mail consisting of ripe tea, raw tea, and two small Yixing teapots. They sent free samples, two different liu bao teas.

Today I got… the wrong order! I was awaiting an order of pu erh from yunnan sourcing and I got the package, but it was the wrong order. Supposed to go to a woman in Russia. Grrrrr, I was looking forward to that tea! Now I guess I gotta wait to hear back from YS to see how to sort it out. lol, I’ve had items in my order be wrong before, but I’ve never been sent the entire wrong order!

The good thing is, you’ll probably get to keep the wrong order.

i got a customs charge for £20.37! woohoo! i have to remember to ask the shops to mark the items down next time

There is 105% customs duty on tea in my country, so I purchase in small amounts from Chinese suppliers (usually on Aliexpress) who mark down the prices and declare it as a gift – and it gets through customs without trouble.

Luckily in the USA there are rarely any customs duties on tea, especially from China. Even on my recent tong purchase of somewhat expensive tea I didn’t pay any customs duties.

if I order more than > 22 euro worth of tea, and the parcel is inspected, I may well have to pay customs duty (125%!) Companies from India tend to mark my parcel as a gift and so far so good. I usually order around 500-700gr. to be on the save side…

Got an order from Bana Tea today with a cute little 100g brick of Jingmai Min Qian and some loose Moonlight White. Both are so yummy.

Have you had the 2005 ginseng ripe? It’s the best ripe I’ve ever ever ever had.

No, I haven’t tried that one yet. I’ll have to add it to my next order. (And now that it’s getting cooler I can finally get back to drinking ripe pu-erh. I’ve missed it this summer.)

I have heard good things!

Nothing exciting, small bags for sharing tea, which I’ve already put to good use. Shout out to Allank for suggesting these

That’s all I got today as well, lol (other than a box from Penzey’s Spices, which was not tea related at all). Anyway, I’m all set for the traveling tea box!
