I’m so glad it finally made it there in one piece! =)

I know! Especially since it left China relatively efficiently. It departed Beijing 5 days after it was mailed. It never showed up on tracking at Canada Post until it reached the local sorting station so I have no idea who was holding it hostage:-). Parcels have been taking longer to arrive from China but I think only one has been as long as this.

I wonder if Canada Customs becomes suspicious when you have a lot of packages of tea.

Maybe but you are supposed to be able to import 3kg of tea for personal use without any duty. Most of the parcels I’ve had problems with are those labeled as other things "Lady’s Handbags’ is a popular one. I think this one might of been we can’t confirm what it is type thing ( though they didn’t try to open it) The bags are foil lined plain bags so I don’t know what they would do to scanners.

I’ve been looking for decent sellers on Ebay and Aliexpress, so this is good to know. I would be interested to know how you think it tastes.

I definitely don’t mind making a few recommendations as well though mmopar is definitely the expert when it comes from puerh. Aliexpress can be a hodgepodge ranging from producers, small farmers ( who will sometimes sell there homegrown teas in there shop which mostly carries other items), actual teashops that often sell on multiple platforms, wholesalers, supermarket type shops and taobao resellers. To be honest I’ve bought some very nice teas from shops that don’t specialise in such. Puerh can be the trickiest, but also many teas that we see as a kind of tea here is keemun are listed as a type of processing on Ali. This is most common for jinjunmei me I, keemun, and Lapsang Souchong but sometimes you need to read the listing carefully. Still, I’ve had mostly positive experiences on Ali with only one seller I will not buy from again.

Thanks so much for the information guys! Given the Canadian dollar and shipping costs, many of the free shipping options on these sites are super tempting, though I know it’s essentially buyer beware, so I appreciate the advice!

There are some great teas to be had from the Aliexpress sellers. Rizhao was the greatest find ever for me. Hope you enjoy your teas. Look forward to reading your reviews.
