Official *What did you get in the mail today?* Thread!!!
I got my Butiki mystery box! So bittersweet. Got all these awesome teas but it will be the last I will get to have from Butiki. :-(
Today I got my third and final Butiki order in the mail, and my swap from Marcus Reed. Thanks Stacy, thanks Marcus.

I received a terrific package from ThainofBuckland containing the luscious looking teas including 2 Doctor Who teas, Romana and The Ponds. I can’t wait to try them!!
SO MUCH BUTIKI
My Butiki order is in limbo D: I’m obsessively checking the tracking. Apparently it arrived in London on the 31st, the left again on a connecting flight? Iat should be here by now so I’m starting to worry ):
Misty Peak Teas and my last EVER Butiki orders came in today! My first ever whole Puer cake!!! I think I will be aging it.
I got in SO MUCH of Butiki’s tea! It would be a sad day if it all wasn’t so awesome! I will now go check myself in to the ‘Tea Buying Hiatus’ Thread….
I wanted that Misty Peak cake but since I just splurged on the Butiki cake my tea budget is busted for a while :P
I am really excited to try the loose that Nicolas sent as a sample! It smells like nothing I have smelled before :D
two boxes from adagio and my first order from verdant! :)
also my T4… but thats got nothing to do with tea, nor as exciting hahah
Another Aliexpress shipment:
More Laiwu tea (a higher grade this timel
Vanilla scented green tea from Xinglong Hainan
Samples, tuocha, Lapsang and a flowering tea.
This seller was kind enough to encase the scented teas in bags to prevent contamination.http://www.aliexpress.com/store/1305029
Gotta love Aliexpress! I just got an order today too. I’m set for Shandong Rizhao tea for awhile! Is this the first time ordering from this seller? Those teas look interesting. I’ll be watching out for your reviews!
Me three – AleExpress order today!!! Not quite sure what these are but am excited to try them. Hope you guys enjoy your teas too.

Ubacat it’s actually my second purchase from this seller. The first one took a while to arrive but I think it was held up on the west coast since it was shipped quickly and tracking showed it leaving China in a reasonable time. The seller was pretty responsive when I communicated with them as well. They do have some interesting looking teas. This time the Laiwu tea I ordered was upgraded to even more of a higher grade tea because the one I ordered was not available at the warehouse at the time. The seller communicated with me and gave me the option of accepting this or refunding my order. It was not just a little more either it was a couple hundred more grams.
dexter I’m looking forward to your notes. You’re experimenting with yancha while I’m mildly experimenting with puerh:-)
yyz – I tried looking for your Laiwu tea from your link. Was just curious as to what kind of tea it was. I had never heard of it before. And a couple hundred grams! Both teas I got in were 250g! It’s just so cheap on Aliexpress! I paid around $10.00 for each with free shipping.
Dexter – The seller didn’t have any English conversion for your teas on the Aliexpress page when you bought them? They do look colourful! I’ll look forward to reading your reviews too.
Ubacat – There were English translateions, but this is so far outside my comfort zone that even in English I’m not really sure what this is. yyz – just said “yancha” ? LOL no idea what yanha is. I was looking for things that I hadn’t tried before/didn’t know what they were/expand my horizons… :)

That’s what I bought. Black brick? Aged oolong in brick? and a milk oolong that’s dark?
The two red packages were free gifts one says JinJunMei on it the other has no English at all….
ubacat Its an interesting tea. It’s fully oxidised like a black tea but has nuances of a da Hong Pao. The lower grade I tried had lots of stems that kind of imparted a green vegetal note and a note that reminded me of kukicha over a fruity cherry like note. One seller told me that locally it’s known as poor man’s dahongpao. The price this seller is selling the teas at is almost the taobao price. Other sellers charge 35$ on sale. I’ve seen the higher grade described as a caramel tea. Laiwu is another place in Shandon, like Rizhao and Laoshan. Have fun exploring:-)
Dexter Yancha is als o known as Rock Tea and is kind of a blanket name for the group of bar Oolong’s from Wuyi that include Da Hong Pao, Shui Xian, Rougui etc. There are quite a few teas included in this class. They tend to be higher oxidised Oolong’s and some buyers prefer to let them sit to let the roasted notes settle. The can also be aged. I’m not sure but the unlabelled pack looks a little like their (*edit) QiLan packaging.
Mystery Box from Butiki. I am pretty excited. They are all teas I wanted to try but would have never ordered on my own. Sad that this is so final.
Got my last order from Butiki teas. I want to both try it all, and save it.
