Two things! My Mandala sheng sampler, and a few samples that Angel from Teavivre* kindly sent me.
Yesterday in the mail I got a gaiwan and 2 cups that my mom bought me for my birthday!!
Ooh one of my orders of foil lined ziplock bags arrived! This means I can start transferring all my teas that came in crappy packaging into air tight, resealable packaging. Good bye roll top paper bags, plastic ziplock bags, plastic twist tie bags and non-sealable foil bags.
Hopefully my sample size bags will arrive soon too.
Just out of curiosity, where did you get them? Good idea when I run out. I use them when I am nearing the end of a tea in a tin and want to reuse the tin for a new tea.
I ordered them from eBay. These two listings, but there’s lots more on there if you need different sizes/styles/quantities. I was looking for a decent price (with shipping) for a good number of bags.

Today I got a triple order all from Dragon Tea House. Two separate orders from Dragon arrived all at once despite being in three packages.

In all I got four types of oolong, four puerhs, and Yixing Black Tea as well as a small Cha Hai.
I got this notice too and was thinking of placing an order. I wanted to try out a few blacks & get a few greens I’ve not had from YS before. I like the buttery, sweet, chocolatey black teas. Any recommendations?
I have not tried any of the ones I got from them before so can’t yet recommend them but they generally sell good quality teas, but that does not mean you will like it. If you buy from Dragonteahouse.biz register first, you get 10% off your purchase that way..
Today I got some green tea samples from Yunomius.
I’m super tempted to place an order with them. I haven’t explored Japanese teas too much and they have so much that is very tempting.
Received my Dammann Frères order today! I ordered restocks of Caramel-Toffee and Fleurilège, as well as Amore, Bulgare, and Rose de Mai to try.
I’m also super pumped about the samples! I knew that they usually threw in samples of wrapped sachets of their teas, so this time I went through their wrapped sachet offerings and in the order comments I requested a few of them that might be available. Well they did send me some wrapped sachets, but they also sent me two half-ounce packages of loose tea of two of the samples I had requested (Vanille and Pomme d’Amour). Awesome! Now I know that I can request loose samples from them in the future!
How bad was shipping for Dammann Frères? Many of their teas seem really reasonably priced, and very tempting.
It’s scaling, so it depends on how much tea you buy. I bought about 500g and it was 15 euro for shipping; if I put another 100g of tea in there it was going to jump up in price again, so I stuck to that amount. It’s not great, but because most of the teas are only about 6 euro for 100g I felt it balanced a bit.
Got my Mandala raw sampler technically yesterday but had to wait until today to pick it up from my parent’s house. Kinda bummed the message I wrote to myself to be included wasn’t actually included, but there was a nice handwritten thank you note from Garret so that was nice too. Lol.

I got my free samples for review from Yunomi.us. They sent 10g each of Kurihara Heritage Gyokuro and Oku Yame Black Tea. I’m excited that they included a black tea, as I’ve never had one from Japan before! :D
