Official *What did you get in the mail today?* Thread!!!
My “only order I was allowed in July because it’s my birthday” order arrived today courtesy of my tea mule. Just in time to try and sway me on ordering more from Stacy during HER birthday sale on Friday…. Love the extra goodies she sent me and super excited to finally get to try the limited edition tea AND red queen cupcake! Woohooo! Go go butiki!
Lots of teaware! Not all of it for me though. I placed a big order with TeaForte for their 25% off sale (before I knew about the Ruelala cpn!) with some upcoming bday presents and that arrived Saturday. I also had ordered a few spare lids because I had broken an older Kati cup lid, but they didn’t have the color I wanted on the spare lids page. I emailed customer service to ask if they could swap out any of the spares I ordered for the color I wanted. They went way above that and actually sent me an entirely new Kati cup in that color. Yay! That arrived on my doorstep today. I guess I won’t have a matching lid for that old cup, but I totally don’t mind because they sent me a new one.
I’ve gotten lots in the mail lately.
I got some pu-erh from Mandy. I got samples from Verdant. I got a Whispering Pines order.
Monday while I was out, the mailman tried to deliver my first Golden Tips subscription. So I had to go pick it up from the post office. It was wrapped in fabric, stitched shut and sealed with wax. No joke. The little box, once I got to it, was stuffed full of tea.
Really, sealed with wax. I wish I’d thought to take a picture. It was pretty amazing. I can honestly say I have never gotten a package that was sewn shut and sealed with wax in the mail before. Or anywhere else for that matter.
I got the same teas you got in the subscription. I didn’t order anything extra. (But somehow, I do seem to have extra of a couple of these…hmmm….wonder how that happened?) I’ve tried the ones you sent me, but none of the others yet. I’m not quite sure where I want to start….
I know when the initial batch came out they said they put in three extra samples.
And my Tea Sparrow teas showed up today, too. I may officially be drowning in tea.
(Is it Friday yet for the Butiki special birthday celebration? Because I think I don’t have enough……)
I got some Yezi samples that I don’t even remember ordering. The handwritten “Thank you” on the invoice is a lovely touch. I love when companies do that.
I got home from work on this sultry Boston day, hot, tired, and cranky. Five minutes later, the USPS truck pulled up and out came a box from Whispering Pines. There’s a mood changer for sure! I’m now delighted to stock:

After the recent thread, I was very eager to try the latter. I have a collection of editions of Alice, so the name alone caught my attention, let alone all the rave reviews. Apparently, it was so popular that it looked all sold out. But upon inquiry, the kind folks at WP were kind enough to save me an ounce and I can’t wait to dig in.

boychik, I had to place this order a few days ago because I knew the supply was getting low. Then I saw that Garret posted that there were only a couple left. I’m glad I got in on it when I did!
I actually have no idea! Garret started a discussion to alert people to the low stock. Maybe sil?
Of course, you are NOT to enjoy the tea you did NOT get, right? Haha! You are a total cake hoarder!!!

Yeah it is a cake, can be got for about $30 on Taobao, slightly less if you are willing to take a more bug bitten wrapper.
Oh I like price on Taobao much more, but I never ordered fr there. I heard you must have an agent to do transactions. I would totally be in if somebody wanted to do group order and has an agent :-)
You can use TaobaoFocus.com which is an English experience, the agent charge is 8%, which for a $30 tea cake isn’t that much. But the shipping is up there, however it is the case mostly when ordering from China.
