Official *What did you get in the mail today?* Thread!!!
Got my Teavivre order yesterday. My yixing tea tea set and loads of samples. The teapot was much smaller than I thought. On the website it has the measurements and ounces. I thought it would a bit smaller in length than my ceramic teapot and it is supposed to hold 4.3 ounces so that’s okay. When I unpacked it yesterday, the teapot only looks like it would hold one or two ounces. I just don’t know how I can brew tea with such a small capacity. Most brewing instructions are for about 8 ounces.
Yixing pots are for puerh tea, which is usually steeped in small batches and drunk in small cups. The tea begins to show interesting flavors anytime after the third steep. Mostly you want to get 10+ steeps. Highly roasted oolongs have a similar process.
Well, I have already seasoned it and brewed a light oolong in it. I don’t have too many roasted oolongs. The light ones are my favourite. I do plan on getting another yixing teapot for sheng pu-erh tea down the road but for now this one is for oolong. The teapot was bigger than I thought. It is 4 ounces. It really surprised me. The whole set is rather cute and am looking forward to having my first cup of oolong in it!
Sounds awesome! I got a new Yixing from Mandala Tea, it is a gai wan pot. After having a cheaper pot crack during seasoning, I held my breath for this one, but it came out okay!
@ubacat My 4 ounce one looks like it could barely hold 1 ounce. Looks can be very deceiving. Have fun experimenting with gong fu cha!

I got Orchid Oolong from the Tea Company. I am really disappointed with the packaging. It was just put in a non-padded envelope. No protection at all. I just found out that they’re just re-selling tea from Art of Tea, so if I want more, I’ll order direct from there instead.
I also got my 5 oz Finum hot glass system. I was really excited by the size. (They also sell an 8oz version. I have that on my Amazon wishlist.) I look forward to trying it out tomorrow.
I got a Teavana yixing pot with two tea cups as a graduation present from my boyfriend’s dad! :D

Wow that set is so gorgeous! Of course graduation deserves that kind of gift. I got my son a teapot too for his graduation this month, but still waiting on the cups from YS. They aren’t a set but will look cool together. Yours will go well with the new oolongs.
Yup, it’s really pretty. HUGE though, so I have to resort to Western brewing methods. lol
Lots of Green Tea! Two different styles of Rizhao tea. The one I opened so far smells incredibly fruity.
