Tea Subscriptions or No? Are they worth it?
I live in Canada and have done a few subscriptions. I have done the David’s Tea, Vintage Fork, Adagio (A few that made the companies favorites) and also Dollar Tea Club (would not recommend). Now I am able to do another one, however I am at odds as to which one to pick next. Or if perhaps they are not worth it and gift packs for a new shop as a better option.
I’m only at odds because the 2 companies I wish to pick next don’t have subscriptions. I am thinking of Desserts by Deb or Brutaliteas. Any suggestions? Opinions?
I don’t know if I’d offer you a very unbiased opinion, as it’s my company, but I’m kind of partial to 52Teas subscription:
I just checked out your website and I’m super intrigued! You are definitely on my list to try! :)
I did the DT subscription as well as MyTeaPal and enjoyed both. I also looked at Adagio but I didn’t like the environmental impact of the single-servings, as well as some of their flavorings are too strong for my taste. I am going to check out Plum Deluxe for a bit and see how it goes. I like that they have smaller quantities, which helps.
If you haven’t checked out MyTeaPal, I strongly recommend it! I will be going back to it probably beginning of next year or doing select months depending on Vincent’s picks as he has great selections!
I really enjoyed the Tea Runner’s subscription.
A few of the benefits there was
1) They have a Pure tea box (which was important to me)
2) They give you a heads up before the boxes ship and allow you to customize your box from all the teas offered that month.
3) Short term subscriptions possible (don’t have to commit for a full year) and ability to do stuff like every other month.
They also straddle the US/Canada border and I think they can now ship directly from Canada for their Canadian customers.
I only subscribed for 3 months (I can’t drink that much tea that fast) and found a few that have become new favorites of mine.
That sounds really intriguing, especially the short-term subscriptions and the customizable options.
I’m checking out the Plum Deluxe subscription right now. My first box should arrive soon. What sold me on them was the small sizes as although I do drink a lot of tea, I don’t have the ability to steep looseleaf at work so I don’t go through my stash as quickly as I would need with other subscriptions.
