Sipdown Challenges

Mastress Alita has expressed a desire to retire from hosting the sipdown challenge. Every month, I was so excited to see what the new prompts were and start planning my prompt fulfillment teas.

Her sensible advice at the head of the thread also helped me be more aware of cupboard control and gave me a bit more strength to resist tea temptation!

I am willing to write new prompts – indeed, have already written some – and conferred with Mastress Alita on reusing material and such.

What would you like to see this year? Some designated “fun days” with specific prompts for special days? Some new types of prompts? Guest prompt writers for the month? Let me know and let’s have fun and keep the sipdown ball rolling in 2023!

Awesome — looking forward to whatever you come up with, Ashmanra! and thanks again Mastress Alita! I think those prompts had me sipdowning around 120 teas a year, so that worked for me. :D

I want to pay better attention to sipdowns of older teas this year. I have a full year of prompts written but I want to add in some “fun day” prompts as well.

I need a few prompts like, that tea you only have one serving of, just drink it. or if its not an aged tea why are you hoarding it? just drink it.
How about one for what’s the tea you own the most of? Yunnan, Assam, generic green tea? just drink it!

I admit was not the best participant as I was really here in 2021 (on steepster) but not this year but also enjoyed the prompts so I’ll be happy with whatever you come up with. :)

SO glad you will be continuing on from Mastress Alita ‘s good work, Ashmanra ! I love the idea of adding special days to the regular monthly prompts! I think it adds to the sense of community we have here on Steepster when you can see all your peers drinking similarly-themed teas on the same day. How about adding some slightly more diverse/unusual holidays to the typical/more well-known ones? International holidays from around the world (I’d be happy to contribute with UK-centric suggestions), random fun/obscure ones like ‘national pirate day’, etc.?

Sounds awesome, Nattie! I can not take credit for the “fun day” prompts idea for special days as Mastress Alita incorporated those in 2021, I believe.

I really just want to see it kept going, so if anyone else has a desire to lead it, I am on board with that, too!
