Steepster members on Instagram

A lot of us migrated over to Instagram when Steepster first became super buggy several months ago. I still come to both but admittedly have reduced Steepstering since that whole fiasco.

Now that Steepster’s reliabilty has been resolved, will those who left return? You all are missed!

I do use Instagram a lot more for talking to my fellow tea friends more than Steepster, but it has less to do with the bugginess (I got a fancy phone after that incident) but because of pictures! I am very much so a ‘visual’ person, so being able to see what people are up to and talking directly about that helps me be more talkative.

Though I really need to catch up on people’s tasting notes (having to share a computer makes it a lot less easy to keep up with all of that) and I miss it.

So IG is popular w/ smart phone users and Stpstr is better suited to a PC?

I think it really comes down to how much time it takes and the visual aspect.
Steepster takes time to read through, catch up, and write reviews- also, it is very intimidating to start on here when you see others with blogs that make your reviews look like a fortune cookie fortune left on the ground.

Instagram is quick and very visual. Of course you can add pictures to reviews on here but that takes even more time and organization. I like both Steepster and Instagram. I don’t believe Steepster should change their system because it is setup as a review site and to incorporate a picture system would be a little chaotic if there wasn’t a mobile app because it is much easier to just find the picture in your phone and click it versus going through your computer after transferring the files.

I would write more but I have to go.

If you have an android device, using Steepster is a nightmare. So I only use it on my computer.

I like IG because it allows me to cross post across several social media platforms which is really nice. I still pop on here, but it’s quicker to snap a pic and post with IG.

+1 , Instagram better for the phone , Steepster better on the laptop at least for me.

Are there any features Stpstr should add to make it more appealing?

Which mobile operating sys works best w/ Stpstr?

Honestly looseTman, I don’t think any of the mobile systems work that great with Steepster. Steepster is very mobile unfriendly IMO. I still use it from time to time on my phone but its kind of an ordeal – especially with the new popup. I use Steepster almost exclusively on the computer.

Agree 100% with MzPriss. Steepster is for computer only. That pop up is soo annoying. I can’t get rid of it. But I don’t think its a good idea to change anything. We had that trouble before.

I understand IG is primarily a smart phone app. However, I’ve read that using an android emulator for PC such as BlueStacks makes it possible to run IG on a laptop:
