Tea & Books - What are you reading?
Just finishing Ready Player One and the second book (Aftermath) in the Remaining series by DJ Molles. One of the better Zombie Apocalypse book series I’ve ever read. Ready Player One is a brilliantly original book that I absolutely adore.
Ready Player One is what I’m reading now. Then I’m eagerly awaiting TheMorningNews.org’s tournament of books short list on January 3.
I also enjoyed Ready Player One. Really enjoyed the 80’s references. In the first chapter I thought there were too many but then it seemed to settle down into the story.
I’m re-reading ASOIF’s A Dance With Dragons. It’s been awhile since I’ve read it. I’m hoping that The Winds of Winter will be coming out soon.
Currently reading Salem’s Lot and Gwendy’s Button Box, both by Stephen King. Salem’s Lot is the book club pick of the month and Gwendy’s Button Box is for my own pleasure.
i’ve never heard of gwendys.. and i’m a big king fan!
I read some clive barker (the great and secret show) and now on alistair reynolds the blue remembered earth – which is really really nicely written so far
Gwendys is new, within the last 6 months I believe. I’ve liked what I have read from Clive Barker. And I don’t think I’ve read anything by Alistair Reynolds. Going to check it out now
Just started “Give a Girl a Knife” by Amy Theilen. Fascinating insider perspective on New York restaurant kitchens!
Has anyone here read Head Full of Ghosts?
By Paul Tremblay? If that one, then read it in Halloween 2016. I liked it for the most part, it kept me guessing, but I found the conclusion a bit messed up, and was not a fan of the interludes/blog pieces that turned out to be by the surviving family member. Definitely looking to read more of Tremblay’s work.
Books?! They go so nicely with a cup of tea, don’t they? (Not that I’m biased as a librarian… nope, not at all!)
I’m currently reading the last book in Anne Bishop’s “Others” series, “Etched in Bone.”
