Could you recommend Sweet Earl Gray tea?
I am bit shy asking your recommendation here. I know about Japanese tea but not so much of other teas.
I am looking for sweet caramel like Earl Gray tea that goes well with hot milk. Could you recommend some teas
Thank you!

Earl greys themselves aren’t usually sweet. However, if you’re looking specifically for sweet, you could try a cream earl grey (cream of earl grey/earl grey cream, there’s some varieties of the name); many tea companies carry a version of it. I would suggest searching Steepster’s database for earl grey creams and reading through the reviews. Although many are probably sourced from the same tea company (Metropolitan Tea Company most often), there’s still many unique ones.
If you’re looking specifically for /caramel/, I’d recommend another blend—also sourced from Metropolitan Tea Company. “Dorian Grey”. There are a few companies with different teas under the same name, but the one I’m talking about is carried by Herbal Infusions, Great Wall, Granville Island, Apollo, and English Tea Store. It’s caramel, apple and bergamot.
Or you could find a tea place where you can blend your own – I know of a few that allow you to do this.
You should check out Upton Tea Imports at http://www.uptontea.com. They sell small, cheap samples, and have quite a few varieties of Earl Grey. I would recommend TE01, the Earl Grey Creme Vanilla, and the TE13 Chocolate Earl Grey for sweeter ones.
I can’t say I’ve ever seen any caramel Earls, but Upton has a Creme Caramel black tea, TE86, which you could probably slip into the TE11 Extra Bergamot Earl Grey to try to approximate that.
Another option is to try the “Create-your-own-blend” from Ovation teas:
http://www.ovationteas.com/custom-tea-blend-1/create-your-own-tea-blend.html
You can use a black tea base, select Caramel Pieces from the Fruit and Nut category, and add Bergamot Oil as a flavoring. Might work out ;)
Good luck!
On Adagio Teas, if you look at the “Reichenbach Recovery” tea custom-blended by Cara McGee, you’ll find that it’s an Earl Grey with Hazelnut and Caramel flavoring. It’s actually delicious, and great with milk/sugar. If you prefer just the caramel, you can always blend your own!
Thank you very much for your great feedbacks while I was away in woods.
It is nice surprise that got so many suggestions and wow… so many varieties and actually I had read over few times to digest the information. Fruit and Nut and Bergamot oil.. can’t imagine how it taste like; thank you for your suggestions, I order samples… exciting!. Thank you again, now I know where to begin.

Heh, someone just posted a review on a Dorian Grey:

It looks like it’s a Earl Grey with caramel.
I’d recommend Organic Cream of Earl Gray or Organic Buttered Rum by DavidsTea (www.davidstea.com)
Early Gray Creme from Teavana as well.
Creamy Earl Grays are usually a tad smoother and sweeter tasting, normally having vanilla flavoring added to them. Both DavidsTea and Teavana’s are good.
Buttered Rum isn’t an earl gray but its a black tea that you may really like if you’re looking for something more caramely. (Don’t let the word “rum” scare you, it’s not rum tasting at all).
If you’re looking for other caramely teas I’d actually suggest veering away from Earl Grays. Earl Grays have bergamot in them, which actually gives a slightly citrus taste rather than caramely, or buttery. But don’t fear, there are thousands of lovely black tea blends from almost any tea company out there that I’m sure can provide you with your perfect cup of black tea.
